felfel, 18 Apr 2014m8 for life..
who care about finger print and water dust..... moreHtc sense only 5 home screen.
Can multi task with only 9 apps in the background.
Never shows the notifications when playing games
(For touch wiz first u swipe it will show the notification bar then you can pull it)
Onscreen buttons eats screen space. You only get 4.7 screen usable screen in a 5 inch screen
Why sense is slightly fast?
Htc disabled all the animations and some Android features.

Samsung is so greedy, I would count my fingers if I ever shook the CEO's hand.

Anonymous, 18 Apr 2014And again I'm talking about screen matrix and you keep talk... moreYes, I agree that more would be better if the same tech would be used for it.
AMOLED is an OLED (organic light emitting diode) display. Here, if the put on regular RGB, the blue subpixels will die faster compared to red and green due to less wavelength of blue light. Hence, sooner or later there will be dead pixels. In diamond pixel arrangement, this issue is fixed as subpixels are of custom sizes and hence they all last equally for about 5 years. Plus currently, samsung doesn't have an efficient tech for RGB amoleds. So that wouldn't have a good battery life due to inefficient design.
And, RGB amoleds tend to have a much higher rate of burn-in problems. One solution to increase sharpness ws to introduce 2K (QHD) pentile amoled. But that would strain the GPU and reduce battery life. So if samsung wanted to go with amoled, this was the way to go.
Have a nice day

AnonD-237466, 18 Apr 2014Well, I may agree on the white difference. I may like diff... moreOk, that makes your point valid then. But m8 has 35 ppi less than m7, so the difference between s5 and m8 will be lesser. Also i don't think the difference will be much, just a little difference.
I have a lg g2 too and s4 and g2 seem equally sharp to me. Probably because g2 has a lesser ppi = 424 and s4 has higher ppi than s5. But honestly I don't think there will be much difference between s5 and m8 as m8 also is less sharp than m7.

I like LCD and i like AMOLED..I would love LCD to have the blacks of AMOLED and AMOLED to have the crispness and true whites of LCD but i dont think that can happen..
The big, big, big disappointment for me is i have to wait another year for S6 to come out and there is not much else on horizon so may get another Nexus 5 32GB black(save some cash too)..

Anonymous, 18 Apr 2014And again I'm talking about screen matrix and you keep talk... moreI reckon they could not produce enough QHD panels for launch of S5..Samsung are under lots of pressure not only supplying their own phones but making components for others...In buisness profit is key followed by quality reliability etc,,,all buisnesses are there to make profit..I am no expert but if they can sell a chip to another company for $2 but when they put that chip in their own phones they only make $1.25 then they will make more selling say 10 million chips to that company..
Who knows what goes on but i did expect QHD in S5 so my only guess is they could not meet demand in time,,i remember they got low on AMOLED panels with the San-Fransisco model on Orange UK so they had to use LCD panels because ran out of AMOLED'S..

To me it sounds like you are saying that having fewer pixels/subpixels is a good thing. Fact is that this screen would be better with RGB matrix or with using QHD resolution. This is a really simple game when it comes to screens, and that is, "More is better". Brighter=better, more pixels=better, more subpixels=better, higher contrast=better, etc. so I don't understand why is everyone praising Samsung when they easily could've done much better, exactly 1,5 times better.

Again, that isn't true. This is a FACT. I don't know why you insist on pulling statements out of nowhere, but please stop being so annoying, trying to assert that falsehoods are true. The SAMOLED display with a diamond pentile arrangement in the S5 is the best display on the market. No ifs, ands, or buts.

Sense has smaller icons. That's true.
S5 contrast is better as you may check review on trusted review website.
Still sharpness of HTC is better. I opened same Web page on both. The images opened were same in both and htc was showing sharper image quality to me. That's in real terms.
One more thing, htc controls zooming of images and don't let images break pixels. In S5 you can zoom and after one points pixels start breaking.

AnonD-237466, 18 Apr 2014I don't support HTC but instead of reading measurements and... moreFirstly, i don't own an s5. Truer whites and better looking whites are 2 very different things my friend. And side by side comparison can't give you that. The s5 has whites at 6600 K and one has around 7000K. 6550K is the ideal white, anything below 6550K will be yellowish and above will be bluish .
The general tendency of human eyes is that some people like bluer whites. You being one of them.
M7 is a 4,7 inch phone. And sense has smaller icons. This makes you feel the perception that m7 looks sharper. To compare, load an image in both of them( image should be exactly same) and then see at same zoom level. zoom a little on m7 and see . Tell me if you see any difference.
Have a nice day

AnonD-219781, 18 Apr 2014Clearly inferior? Wat? It is factually the best display on ... moreI think you misunderstood me. I said that PenTile matrix used in Galaxy S, S3, S4 and S5 is clearly inferior to RGB one used in Galaxy S2. Reason for it being having incomplete subpixel set. If S5 used AMOLED with RGB matrix it would have higher sharpness compared to the current state of things. I really don't understand what DisplayMate and everyone else see in S5 display since colors look way off to me in all the shots I've seen. Even when I saw it live the colors were terrible, but I'm not sure was it set to Cinema mode that is supposed to have truest color accuracy, and they wouldn't allow me to fiddle with the settings in the showroom.

AnonD-219781, 18 Apr 2014Clearly inferior? Wat? It is factually the best display on ... moreI don't support HTC but instead of reading measurements and benchmark, just go to a shop and have display of HTC and S5 side by side. Your eyes will give right conclusion.
I again say I don't support any brand but only true conclusion based on ownership of both M7 and S5.
I disliked M7 and bought S5. But when it comes to screen and UK htc is still ahead.

shubham yadav, 18 Apr 2014Yes , i know the reason why they abandoned RGB. the RGB on ... moreYou are doing unreasonable favour to S5 my friend.
I have got S5 and still use M7. And I respect each brand for its unique features.
1. Whites are more true in M7 then S5. Just open a Web site side by side and look. No need to go to any review or benchmarks.
2. It's easier to say that human eye cannot see any pixel over 400 ppi. But still human eye can see difference in sharpness when M7 and S5 are side by side. S5 has bigger screen but I can confidently confirm that a normal human can perceive that M7 is sharper then S5. Gsmarena too say this thing. Yes, S5 is sharp enough but not sharper then M7.
3. In sun light S5 is better.
