Samsung Galaxy S5 vs. HTC One (M8): Leather and steel

17 April 2014
HTC has made some of the best-looking smartphones in recent history while Samsung has some of the best-selling ones. That’s very much true for the HTC flagship and yet to be seen about the Samsung Galaxy S5, but the clash is no less...

Most people will disable the fingerprint scanner on the Galaxy S5 because its not half as good and convinient as the one on the iphone 5S,also how many people can make any reasonable use of the heart rate monitor on the S5?.

htc did two mistakes in the new htc one, first they increased the size of the phone which make it look ugly when compared to the original htc one.
the second is the camera they are still insisting on using the ultrapixel gimmick which proved to be failure in the old and new models.

regarding galaxy s5 i prefer s4 size, built in fm radio, infra red blaster and receiver like the htc uses.

On average i got better photos with Xperia Z than with Note2 and S4, as i dont live in a perfect world where i take only outdoors photos in well lit conditions, however in the case of M7 and M8 the daylight photos are too questionable, 3 mpix (4:3) is not much and it shows. I just may have to give this victory to Samsung after all.

I pick s5 as overall package. Who cares if htc is built of aluminium? Since when did aluminium became premium?

in the still quality they didn't even touch the low light department. Why? because the One blows the S5 out of the water.

Experience says that poor lightning conditions are much more common than ideal lightning conditions. We don't live in an ideal world after all.

Browsing through the comments, the S5 is getting a lot of favouritism. I would prefer the HTC M8. Because its a beautiful design and great speakers. And no, GSMArena aren't favouring the GS5 over the HTC M8. There just reviewing the devices of the specs. I'm perfectly fine with 2.3ghz of power. And Sense 6 has less bloatware than the S5 (which takes up a majority of the storage).

At the end of the day, its your pick. Choose whatever device you want and get on with life.
