I saw about fingerprint scanner in youtube videos, in the hands of one of my friends and in a store. Anyway, thermometer and barometer are nowhere in Samsung's official S5 page and as I mentioned they have been removed from specs in GSMarena also. So it has to be removed from both, specs and comparison or restored in both.
I just saw that they removed it with my post, twice.

Htc: Lower specs, non-removeble battery, poor camera..
Looks like we have a clearn winner here.

Also, no one on this planet wants low res photos. And that underexposure and pathetic HDR and panorama has no excuse. The moment you zoom in, the photo is pathetic. And people do zoom in their photos if not crop them. So yes, HTC one doesn't have any advantage. Plus s5 can record HDR video and UHD video. So HTC has blows from all sides.
Anyways, choosing between them is just like pervious year, a matter of taste.
Excuse can be given for anything. All things have their advantages. Like a low res camera will be faster.

[deleted post]They are not favoring anything here. They are just stating the differences and advantages of each of the two smartphones in a practical manner. Maybe you want to go and read the review properly first and then think carefully on what you want to say. Even other review sites have roughly the same results when comparing these two phones.

I'm upgrading to the S5 next month after reading a few reviews like these.
I'm on the One S now.
The camera is awful, I've always hated not having a dedicated button! It may seem like low rent whining but it's been a real pain. Quality of pix are poor.
I absolutely hate the battery in the One S. If I need a new battery, I want to be able to buy and replace it!
I went from the G1 to the Mytouch to the One S. But next month, I'll be choosing the S5!

Samsung's UI is all over the place. Standard google icons on home screens, but circular icons in Settings and quick settings. In other areas it's old style TouchWiz still.
Also that sunspider score is a joke. The S5 scores 700ms just like the M8 with Chrome. Optimization in the stock browser for Sunspider is pretty obvious.

[deleted post]Judging by your comment, you just know nothing. Ultrapixels ARE megapixels, just bigger. And this time s5 has a bigger and better sensor. S5 sensor is 1/2.6 inch vs 1/3 of one. Also it's ISOCELL which is much better than BSI of one providing better colour reproduction and pixel interference. See the samples. GSMAREMA can't cheat on them. S5 blows htc one away in camera.
Comment sensibly. You Are on a tech forum. People aren't fools.

M8 will always be better in looks on any day.. Just hold M7 and I guess that will apply to M8 too..
But S5 is better in camera and overall performance..
It's a matter of choice..
Last year I preferred M7 and I was right. But due to bad camera and battery I have now got S5.

Secondly, the tests in which s5 won were with a good margin whereas htc one won by just very less margins except the epic citadel one. Also htc one has on screen buttons reducing resolution of on screen giving it an advantage.
And s5 has a better chipset. A better version of 801 with higher clock and one more advantage( I don't remember it exactly).
Hence s5 won

On looks, the HTC, but if I had to pick one to use, it'd be the s5. Seems more of a complete package.

All due to touchwiz ( a lot of shortcuts, better notification centre, s health etc. It just makes life easier if you get a hang of it), amoled screen, camera and ergonomics. Even s4 is better than m8 in these scenes.
I was obviously joking above. What I want to convey is that the review is true. Also in the end they concluded that it all depends on personal preference. Some prefer design, others ergonomics and safety. I am kinda fitness frenzy. So pedometer and all sensors are important to me. Some people may prefer m8 due to front cam Also.
So all you said was but a personal choice. Both devices are good. But one is better than other for some people with specific needs.
The review is as fair as it can be. No personal opinion is imposed on you. Each point us taken into consideration. You can even see how detailed the final results are. Yes, even they will vary fir different people. Some people may even find s5 better in design due to better ergonomics and waterproofing. Yes that's impotant while most( including me) find that htc is better in that.
So please read the review fully and then comment carefully.
