This will gonna be my new phone soon!
What i want on this phone:
1. The weight - only 115g
2. The metal frame - looks premium
3. 20nm processor - means power efficient
4. Big.little cpu - means battery efficient
5. So thin - only 6.7mm
Solutions to the problems to be encountered in owning this phone:
1. Small battery - you can buy more than one spare batteries with desktop charger so you can change batteries anytime anywhere.
2. No expandable memory - you can buy otg cable or host cable & pop in a 64gb flash drive to transfer all your files.
I own S2, S3, S4 and recently note3 for 6 months & during those times i always wish to have a small version of note3 coz i felt having to carry a big phone is so inconvenient. I almost want to go for iphone 5s due to its size & weight but the lack of removable battery & compatible usb otg halts me.
Samsung galaxy alpha will be definitely my new phone, and its the scuba blue color!

S2 lovers love this Alpha... but with specs only this much.. il stay with my S2.. until .. may be. there is sone Alpha Plus or something with something more.. ;l)

What a disappointment. I was hoping to have a reason to upgrade but I'll stick with my Galaxy S2

can anyone answer me on this. the device is nice. battery seems to be a problem, ok there's ways around that. but its the storage. I have lots of music. girl in three shop told me to put the music on drop box as you get 50gb free with Samsung. is this correct???.
also if that is correct can you go into to music player on your alpha and play music from the drop box cloud as if its in your phone music library?
If some one can enlighten me on this it be great thanks.

darkraver, 01 Sep 2014I guess you can't too...until we see it in real usage.
B... moreOh please. You are just a Samsung basher.
How did the battery life turn out bull?
By your lie on that it's evident then.....even if it was not already.....That the cpu power is good too.
Keep trying mr. jelly.

AnonD-198581, 30 Aug 2014Haters can't see or can't understand the 20nm Exynos. Poor guy.I guess you can't too...until we see it in real usage.
But concluding everybody here ranted about it's power efficiency which turned out bull in real life tests, maybe it's processing power in real life usage will be bull too...

SO for me the cons of this phone is:
-pentile matrix with 312 ppi, the pixels will be noticeable easily, they should have use the usual RGB like note 2/ note 3 neo, if you don't believe it, try galaxy s3, the pixels are noticeable.
-battery maybe better than first feared, but still, not enough, even many galaxy s4 users with a better endurance rating (the difference is around 10h endurance rating ) complain about the battery, so something around 50-60h is just not enough.

I hate that this like most reviews acts like Polycarbonate Polymers are a bad thing. How wrong you all are as even Apple, who has been the primary reason Polycarbonate Plastic has been getting such a bad rap since they stopped using it in iPhone 3GS. A phone they were still making in 2012 and selling tons of.
Now they are making an entire case on iPhone 5c w/ inferior old hardware and it isn't selling that well. But... what hasn't been mention is that Apple is now putting plastic, instead of glass over the top and bottom antenna areas for better reception on iPhone 6. But do you think reviewers will mention that? NO!!! ....it's Apple and everyone knows Apple is next to iSnake You Vipers when it comes to marketing and lying about their competition until they are doing the same thing.
Like in same screen sizes as First Samsung and then everyone else followed their lead. Except no competitor has been able to really compete against Galaxy Note Series with S-Pen!
Galaxy Alpha isn't just another pretty face either. It's the first 20nm processor saving 25% energy usage, besides Big/Little finally maturing into the first viable Heterogenous Computing Smartphone. Meaning it'll still... despite benchmarking out higher than Apple A7, have comparable battery life. Along with the ability to free it's users from being "WALL HUGGERS"!
Go to any airport and you can see them all using Samsung's Charging stations more than Samsung's own users! ;-P

I've still got my s2 (galaxy) which I've been.travelling the world with four 2.5 years and besides having.to replace the charging port and losing recognition of usb memory when plugged in Its working.fine. This is another reason why removable storage is great. even.though I've lost the ability to connect external usb memory sticks I have redundancy and are.now moving videos and photos to another microsd card which I swap into the phone. Yes there's the internet for storage but it's slow if at all accessible in many places (I'm currently in south America after travelling through central America, the middle east, Africa and Europe) I was excited about the s5 rumors then those for the Alpha but both turned out to be disappointing in reality. personally the waterproofing of the s5 is great but expandable storage is a must and battery and cpu upgrades are also.necessary to make me upgrade. metal is nice but practically the only area that it's really needed is around the edges for when it gets dropped. So I still have my galaxy s2 with 48 gig of storage.( including removable) and a radio and what do I get in exchange on an Alpha? metal which is nice, no radio, no expandable storage so less flexibility and less storage, finger print scanner and heart rate monitor which I don't need.
Sorry not enough for me to upgrade and actually a step backwards for my needs.

I'm seriously considering this phone (Galaxy Alpha) but I also like the Nokia 930 especially for the camera quality (instagram maniac)and since they don't have the Nokia 930 as 1 of the phones tested against on the performance charts can sum1 advise me how the 2 phones measure against ea. other (please help!!) (my S3 is now laggy and slow ever since I upped to 4.3 OS and it's even crashed 1ce, damn you Sammy and your bloatware)(not bashing, just my experience, I still love my S3)
