I haven't used the Note 3, other than minimal testing, but I did have the GS5, which I returned. I've had a few Samsung phones, never been happy with any of them, but keep buying them because I forget after a while... Samsungs also feel cheap in the hand, but maybe you like that.
I have the iPhone 6+. I am telling you, from my experience, it's the best phone I've ever had.

Though the Note's display is pentile, but it's diamond pixel arrangement and QHD resolution make all the difference, and the 'best display' acknowledgment came from displaymate, not me. It's stylus is a great addition, it's like you'd always have a piece of paper with you whenever you need to scribble something quickly, and when I said design I don't mean like a building or a car or something like that, maybe just some things that you need to make or want to create. I'm definitely gonna make good use of it. The multitasking is also much different than the previous versions, it's even more practical now with floating window, it's definitely much better than what the iPhone has to offer. And the virtual reality capability? You must be kidding me comparing it with TV, right? It's been reviewed on various tech sites as awesome. I believe it'll be a different and amazing experience and something unique to the Note 4, I know you'll be thinking like this too once you've tried it yourself. It's also really cheap since Sprint is offering it for just $720, you can even pay just $30/month for two years without a down payment, 32GB with micro sd card extension. With the Android L coming, the phone is going to be even better, super smooth and really fast because of the new ART protocol to replace the old Dalvik. Battery life? You do know that early findings show that it's going to be even more efficient than the 1080p phones, don't you? It's because of the new tech on the display. And it also had the Ultra power saving mode that'll give you 24 hours of juice with just 10% of battery left. One of Android L's biggest advantage will also happen to be power efficiency. And to top it off, the Note 4 also has the fast charging feature that'll make you reach 50% of it's massive battery charged in just 30 minute and 100% in just 70.
So, there, there's nothing that the iPhone has to offer that the Note has not, yet there are plenty more from the Note 4 that the iPhone just simply lacking and doesn't have any answer. Sorry :)

Anonymous, 29 Sep 2014So you mean that the iPhone 6 has all those features?
Fi... moreThis is such a stupid comment...
More features means little in the real world.
The iPhone has by far the best functioning fingerprint sensor (I've had and tested the S5 and it sucks in comparison).
The iPhone has the best camera on a phone right now: fast, excellent balance and best panorama there is.
The iPhone has a really good ecosystem, including AirPlay, which is heads and shoulders above Chromecast (yes, I have both, never really use Chromecast, even from my Android).
The iPhone, thanks to that really good fingerprint sensor, has the best point of sale payment ecosystem there is.
iOS 8 is actually really good and it has gained a few points on KitKat (but still behind on a couple). But they are both excellent OS platforms.
So, for now, the iPhone 6 is probably the best phone there is.
I have an Xperia too, and I returned a GS5 (poor dynamic range in photos, which made too many of them unusable for me on a large TV screen).

Main disadvantages:
No 4K Video. Are you guys serious? Even the 4k video recording is implemented on iphone6 still useless. Do you know what file size of 4K video in 1 min? it's around 28,67 GB and you need to watch it on UHDTV. So tell me now what's the point?

Pentile display doesn´t mean that the display have fewer pixel that other display with the same resolution. The difference is in the subpixels and the pixel arrangement.
Also, the pentile arrangement inside the new Samsung Amoled displays is different.
Starting with the SGS4, this tech is much more mature. The new diamond arrangement of the pixel is really, really good.

How come iPhone 6 Plus has such a huge difference on GFX 2.7 T-Rex (onscreen) - 52.6 vs offscreen 44.6.
When both resolutions are 1080p. Or maybe it is rendering onscreen 3d games at lower resolutions?!

AnonD-183154, 27 Sep 2014Can someone name me one Android phone with:
-64-bit SoC
... moreSo you mean that the iPhone 6 has all those features?
First, you don't need to have them all (41MP camera, why not 80 while you're at it? 64 bit SOC, is that really gonna change the experience right now? etc..)
All Android flagships have more features than the iPhone 6, even if they don't have the whole list of random specs you're showing.

AnonD-281018, 27 Sep 2014Just imagine faces at Qualcomm and Samsung after Apple A8 c... moreYou obviously don't know what you're talking about.
They are using different architecture, just doubling the amount of cores is not as easy as what you make it look like (you have to factor in core size, temperatures, and a lot of other factors).
Frequency and the number of cores is not the only thing that makes a SOC fast.
But RAM will most likely be a limiting factor in the near future.
Also, there are already new processor that are faster than the A8 (the new Exynos in the Note 4, most likely the new Snapdragon 810, and the Tegra K1), so I don't think they are crying as it was not unexpected, Apple's processors have always been quite fast.
I don't know why so many people complain about the fact that it's still a lowly dual core, they are fast.
Having only 1Gb of RAM is something else though, even if the iPhone doesn't have real multitasking, it is a bottleneck.

iphone fans have been waiting a while to upgrade to a new design shell...and this seems to be exactly that...hardware wise the phone is not overwhelming...and is even a bit disappointing when you'd expect apple to be the leader in innovation...and innovation in many of their products seems to be hard to come by these days from apple's mgt., ever since Jobs passed away...other phone manufacturers seem to have taken the lead in this area....is Apple the next Nokia?

All of those with a cheaper price tag. The Note 4 is just wow."
I've been "burned" by Samsung twice(Galaxy S1 and Galaxy S3). The Amoled screens of Samsung phones might look good, but they are pentile, being in reality of lower resolution than advertised. On the S3 I have problems reading the small text on some web-pages. Stylus for artwork? Thanks, I'm not a painter, I'm a content consumer. Design on Samsung phones? Please! Creativity? LOL, create what? Multiwindow multitasking? Have them on the S3, not using them. VR for multimedia and games? Thanks, I'll stick with my TV/Apple TV/iPad/PS4 for that. Cheaper than what? I paid for my new iPhone 6 64GB, 230 Euro down payment for a 2 years 4G, 2GB/month contract.
I should receive the iPhone 6 today or this week. I will miss the lag, no updates, bloatware, low battery life from my SGS 3! Not! :)

And while ... moreThe bugs are everywhere? And that has everything to do with Apple? What about the developers and their skills (or lack thereof)?
The Apple App ecosystem wouldn't be what it is if the App experience was so crap on an iPhone, as you say it is. I have owned an iPhone for 4 years and whilst I get App crashes here and there, 90% of my Apps have never crashed.
