GSMArena.com team , i m very sad about what u said about the navigation keys of the W850i !!
i dont know what is bad in it!?
i really got used to it in about 2 days,,, & i found it very clever from SE to make it like that coz slider design wont like soft keys at that place .. , am i right or not ??
EXCELLENT FONE

hey this is a great phone. i just love the way it looks. i got a black one but soon il have a white one. the white looks much better. i still prefer my W900-white over any other sony i haad. the W850 keypad is just a bit to stiff. you must really watchout for spelling errors when you type a msg. other than that its very spifffffff.

How do u delete tracks from the play queue in da w850i ? Sounds simple, i know, but they always come back, like Arnie! I don't wanna listen to da same tunes, all da time, over and over again.
This is da only fault i've really found with da phone, but i've only had it 2 weeks!

To anyone who's just read the review. The review is pretty much spot on, except that a) My w850i slider mechanism/keypad does not make any creeking noises. b) The directional pad is only hard to press at first, after a week or so of good solid usage, mine seemed to lighten up and am quite comfortable with it now. c) My phone did not ship with the river rafting game or the music DJ software.
Maybe theres been a few changes since the review.
I've been through a lot of phones, and just got rid of an o2 atom smartphone, which was replaced with this, and I could'nt be happier. Its the best phone I've ever had yet, hands down.

i like the fone, dont get me wrong. but i found a load of things wrong with it.
if u go have a picture and set it as nomal size, thats fair enough. but if u rest the same picture as your background but max it. there is still bits of the older, smaller pic in places. also if u "queue" songs from diffrent artest on the player and when its finnished and try to play a diffrent band it replays the songs in hte queue.
its very annoying.

I am on my second 850i, the speaker broke, the ear piece reception was very distorted and difficult to hear anyone when in phone mode, and the keypad lights stopped working. The second phone also has poor sound quality when in phone mode? Anyone else have these problems?

My W850i is not good at all, im switching it cause when its not in use(bluetooth and all off) and its in my pocket or on my nightstand when im asleep it sends empty sms's and mms's, it had been online the internet 5 houres when i didnt notice it, that cost me "abit" so now im going to choose money back from my garanti and probably will switch to another brand tho my last phone(k700i) was really good and i never had any problems with that. by the way, ive probably never ever even have had on bluetooth or internet bye myself so its nothing like that, only wanted to warn people, kkthxbye

Hi had the w850i for one month now - and comparing to my bros k800i and my dads n73 - the battery power/music on the w850i > k800i+n73
I am getting about 6-8 hrs playback in walkman mode and about 2-3 days with continuous usage e.g. phone calls, games, music.
Im extremely pleased with my purchase, i couldnt even get 1 hr of music with my 6280...
OS is fast, responsive and allows to send pratically anything via bluetooth with ease - camera is a bit of a let down but it still does take good pictures just dont expect fantasic ones. So far no bugs or glitches like the previous nokias ive had.
Basically i have found a device that combines a ipod, mobile phone and a gaming device into one nifty device.
I havent tried surfing the net yet which i should get around to doing. Oh and if i was to import albums to my phone using the usb cable it takes about 5-10 min for 100mb - I might be upgrading to the 2 Gb Highspeed sony mem stick which is roughly $100 for those that are interested.
Pros
+ sleek design
+ free 1 gb mem stick + great earphones
+ extremely good battery life
+ sound quality is top notch with headphones and with speakers - very loud
+ hold about 8 full albums
+ Great flexibility and ease of use in the OS
+ Good screen size
Cons
- Navigational is a bit akward at first well only the down button but im used to it now
- video mode could be better quality
- Camera is good but not great
I recommend this phone to anyone - its a great buy
9.5/10

the screen does flicker due the fact it has a light sensor in it to adjust the brightness depending on where you are either a dark place or a light place

Hey... I just have a query about the slide function of this phone... My frnds who have the Nokia slides like 6270/6280/N-91 and N-80 have encountered fading of the lower console of the phone with the numeric key-pad due to repeated and regular use of the slide while answering a call etc... I have seen the same and the phone starts looking very bad... H/ever this could be due to the smooth plastic finish that Nokia phones have while 850i has a different finish to the plastic case... All those of u who've been using this phone have u noticed any such fading due to the slide function... Pls do check and let me know... Thanx...

I've been using the w850i for more than a month now & i'm extremely happy with it! no offense to samsung fans but the hard plastic casing of D900 looks cheap(phone overall still looks good)w850i is one greaqt phone & i haven't encounter any problems yet! battery life is also amazing.
