regs, 07 Nov 2014Pro will have an extremely slow GPU unfortunately. Same SoC... moreThanks for pointing this out, I didn't know. Had been thinking about trying it, but now will wait before I order it.
This pointless super HD resolution race is getting absurd.

China is the world's largest mobile phone market so don't be surprised if Meizu takes its sweet time going global when there's more than enough for them right here in China.
Going global is a huge undertaking which OnePlus and Xiaomi are unfortunately learning the hard way; you need the manufacturing capacity to make enough units, the logistics to ship and store them, the retail channels to sell them, and then the service centers in place to support them not to mention other stuff like training and translating manuals and software for dozens of languages.
Meizu should be applauded for setting up an international online store so at least if anyone anywhere really wants one they can go online and order one direct, even Xiaomi, Oppo, and Oneplus haven't done that.

Same SoC as Galaxy Alpha, but more than 4 times larger resolution. Unless they manage to make it 4 times smaller in full screen 3D apps (games), so it will be native to screen.

One of the more interesting Chinese phones, with the Pro version sounding like the most interesting Chinese phone of them all.
But most other reviews I saw noted poor build quality and substandard camera overall. I hope the more expensive MX4 Pro improves in these areas.

At least, the Meizu MX4 has been very succesfull in China, millions have already been sold, so that's a good start for them.
Meizu MX4 PRO version will come out soon and according to rumors possible also a budget Meizu version to compete with Xiaomi Redmi series.

Still with MX2. For me reasons I didn't buy MX4 are lack of LTE 800 and NFC. Waiting for MX4 mini or next year, for MX5. As MX2 will be updated to Flyme 4 as well. For now, most probably, i'm going with new tablet - Nexus 9. Not because it's HTC, but because it's 4:3 and Nexus. Sadly Meizu doesn't do tablets. Most probably due to lack of proper screens from Sharp.

I was really disappointed with it's camera performance.
Other reviews said that it was great, it was awesome, but now I saw it here, I think I might have a change of mind. The sharpness is unbearable, and the video quality is so-so.
It's cheap in our place, around $350.
Still, it's not Samsung, LG, Sony, or Nokia, so I wasn't expecting really hard on the phone's camera performance.
But still disappointed though.
But with other things such as battery, performance, screen, it's awesome. Just a bit of sacrifice for the price.
