Nokia Lumia 830 review: Shining bright

19 November 2014
Nokia Lumia 830 is probably the last smartphone to wear the iconic Nokia logo, five letters with so much history behind. And while it might not be a model as iconic as the original 808 PureView or the Lumia 1020, the Nokia Lumia 830 is destined to go down...

All my phones were Nokias. 3310, n70, n95, 5530 EM, E72, except Note 2 which i own now. I don't regret it but i feel like i own something to Nokia now. I think i will go for Lumia 1520, for me it sounds like the right way to say goodbye. Hope that Microsoft will carry on the good name. RIP

The best part of these phones are the awesome Maps. Free, offline and voice navigation. Ill be getting this as my navigation device.

Well if this phone can be jailbroken & fully unlocked, I'd like to get one. It has good piece of hardware, only limited by closed OS with grim future.

"but the standby performance is rather mediocre."

I get ~13 days if I don't touch the phone. More than mediocre to me.

Great phone. The buttons should have higher action though. Camera button wakes the phone too easily, so that option has to be turned off.
