Most of us use the smartphone heavily for web browsing and playing videos, so the web-browsing time and video playback time are more accurate than the endurance rating.

Well , so Snapdragon 810 does overheats...!
Some fanboys still think that overheating can be solved by ota updates...!
But the truth is...No software update can solve hardware issues...!

Well this shows that how Samsung Galaxy S6 is very efficient...!
I was expecting a good battery life out of M9 with bigger battery and the same resolution screen...i think its because of the old gen LCD tech...!
AMOLEDs are now way superior than any LCD out there...especially when it comes to power efficiency...!

Okay, the 7420 really is damn good... It's on-screen performance matches the M9 even when it's running at 1440p resolution while the M9 runs it at 1080p resolution.

This test is based on preproduction firmware. HTC just came out with an update that "fixes" overheating in certain benchmarks through throttling. This means up to 26% lower framerates in for example GFXBench T-Rex though. Meaning, buyers of the phone will not achieve results posted in this review.

I really wanna know what the HTC fanboys have to say now about the m9 battery life when they compare it to the gs6.

Smaller nodes with the same transistors = faster, more power efficient. The S6 is known to get hot, too. I read a review on it somewhere, probably here, where it got too hot to touch after playing a game on it after an extended period of time, but it didn't affect the performance at all.

AnonD-213026, 23 Mar 2015that sounds rather inefficient, doesn't it?Indeed, very. Qualcomm is the one to blame here, not HTC. Qualcomm rushed the incomplete, scorching hot SoC. Avoid devices with the 810 like the plague.

AnonD-354781, 23 Mar 2015It's due to the SoC drawing more power.Aren't Samsung and htc using the same cores?

I know they're different SoC, but their CPU cores are the exactly the same.

how does the m9, with a bigger battery and lower resolution, still have a worse battery life than the s6?

This is not a bad device, but I will be holding off on getting a phone till one comes equipped with the Snapdragon 815, hopefully the G4.

2800 mAH battery with 1080p resolution and worse battery life than 2550 mAH 1440p resolution S6?

Will read the full review tomorrow, thanks for posting it as always.

But just saw the camera section, and I am surprised to see that its mentioned that the camera images are better than Xperia Z3? LOL, if that's true (and there's no reason to disbelief GSMA anyway) then that's a HUGE achievement.

PS: Just looking at the last low light sample, man, it looks like shite!
