Samsung Galaxy S6 vs. HTC One M9: Dressed to kill

S6, the largest step back in the history of Samsung. I would take S5 Active over both of these, but still, of those two, it's M9 I would choose, even though neither M9 is worth the money. If I managed to find M7 for like 100€-150€ I'd take M7 right away.

I don't want my phone to wobble like a table with an uneven leg.

If I was buying a new phone to replace my One M8, I would most definitely buy a S6 Edge.

M9 has faster transition speeds, but you can always tune that up in developer options.
Also, I've noticed that the M9's UI stuttered frequently. I thought it was my eyes playing tricks on me, but seeing as how Anandtech also reported stuttering on the M9, I don't think it was just me.

Agree inbuilt storage is faster but it doesn't make mmc obsolete. Samsung played Apple here, taking the mmc & offering more memory at insane price.

Adding expandable SD card slots would have compromised storage speeds.

I was comparing it iPhone 6 yesterday & S6's camera protudes at least 5 times more than iPhone. I am amazed how Apple was trolled for its protuding camera but no one boethers when Samsung makes this big buldge on the back that too without Saphire glass protection.

Wow so good phone if it only had IP protection and sdcard slot it would have been the best phone for the entire year.. so stupid they took out everything s5 had :( but yet still it runs over everything haha thats pathethic htc or lg sony cant even match their phones no matter how hard they try.

The S6 edge, on the other hand, is the sexiest phone I've ever seen.
As for build quality, I personally think the S6 felt better in my hands than the M8.

People need change, that's one of the reason S6 is praised by everyone and M9 is being bashed by all cuz it repeating the design. but still M9 is more beautiful and premium then S6. but all this attraction is lost by repeating design(which I'm really loving it), average camera and battery. Had high hopes on battery but seems SD810 is not power efficient enough even its built on 20nm process and bigger battery.

[deleted post]I second that mate. I knew Galaxy S6 was going to win in more departments but looks isn't the one in which Samsung excels. Yes, Samsung had a lot to improve & they have with S6 but M9 is way better looking. It's just that HTC didn't have much to improve in looks department. Apart from it HTC's camera is definitely better in daylight conditions.

M9 wins in audio section, I am not bothered about that stereo speakers, but the stereo crosstalk when headphone is attached is just insane, true near audiophile-grade experience, darn, S6 isn't far behind, but a win is a win nevertheless.
However at all other category S6 is a clear winner. HTC should have tried a little better to put up the M9, especially in the camera section and low light. From HTC's point of view the camera is an upgrade but people will look not look into that but current competition only.
Anyway, I still like the looks of M9. However the S6 was a very clear winner, it was kind of one way traffic.

First time I wanted Samsung mobile was just because of display, and I bought Note 4, but sold in 3 weeks just cuz of TW and so many bloat wears. now I again want(but first want M9) Samsung mobile cuz of display and camera and also for looks. If I bought S6 then it would be S6 edge but in green color, and that color is not yet available, I hope it will be soon in 2-3months.

[deleted post]Look, I'm not a Samsung fan and I've been a huge critic of Samsung phones for a long time.
However, Samsung really knocked it out of the park with the S6 and ESPECIALLY the S6 Edge.
You know that you have a real winner when even pro-Apple sites like BGR nit-pick and complain about the smallest issues like slightly uneven speaker hole placements on your phone.
It's like the author was intentionally looking for something bad about the phone but couldn't find anything worthwhile to complain about.

"samsung galaxy s6 over one m9" section is full of useless gimmicks
1-Bigger screen diagonal: 5.1-inch vs. 5.0-inch screen-useless
2-Higher resolution screen - 1,440 x 2,560 vs. 1,080 x 1,920px- more than useless. eye can't see any difference. only the stanby time will be much shorter at samsung
3-Optical image stabilization for the camera-this is good, but not an issue for those who do not have parkinson.
3-PayPal-certified fingerprint scanner-very useless
4-Thinner and lighter - 6.8mm and 138g vs. 9.6mm and 157g-irrelevant, i can bear the difference of 19 grams more :))
5-Heart rate and blood-oxygen (SpO2) sensors), barometer-the precision of these sensors is low, you can't trust them for real. it is not a certified medical instrument for hospitals. useless again
6-Wireless charging (market dependent)-very dangerous for the health because the electromagmetic field is very strong in the area of the charger. useless and give cancer
