Ascorth, 28 Apr 2015Samsung fanboy detected,... Lolz
As for G4, great attemp... moreDufus, did you not read that I own an LG G2, G3 and Nexus5?
I have not owned a Samsung since the original Samsung Note of 2012.
I am a fan of LG Electronics, but the point is that the G4 is not that good a flagship spec wise, its a major fail when they are offering a 6-core CPU with an already outdated by 2 generations GPU and only have 3GB RAM (DD3)
If the GFlex2 can have SD810/430 then so should the G4, all this talk about overheating is BS as we have seen with HTC M9.
Anyway we also need to see quantum dot screen works against IPS RGB.

Yes the one from Sony looks elegant and premium, but the slippery glass and flat back panel just don't make it comfortable to hold. At the end of the day design for better handling just wins premium look.

Looks like the camera samples show that LG are still fond of implementing very aggressive noise reduction in their post processing. It smudges out a lot of fine detail.

To be fair, with it's overheating issues, the Snapdragon 810 wouldn't have been a great option for the G4 either. ArsTechnica took an in depth look at the throttling on the 810, which is done to handle the overheating, and showed that the 810 is actually slower than the 805 and even the 801, once it starts throttling. They also showed it's nowhere close to Samsung's 7420.
This wouldn't have show up in the quick tests GSMArena ran at the G4 unveiling on the HTC M9 with the 810 processor, because it takes ten minutes or so for the throttling to really kick in.
So what are flagship manufacturers supposed to do, who are dependent on Qualcomm? Qualcomm basically screwed over the current generation of flagship phones, in their rush to create a jerry-rigged 64 bit chipset, before they had developed the proper cores for them.
It was not normal for Qualcomm to use "off the shelf" cores for the 810, rather than cores they had developed themselves. But it was the only way they could claim to have a 64 bit chipset. So really, this is just a lost generation of flagship phones for everyone except Apple and Samsung, who create their own chipsets.
With the Snapdragon 820, Qualcomm will develop their own cores and return to their usual manufacturing process and their should be no more problems. In the meantime, I don't blame LG for taking a pass on the 810. At least they have a chipset that won't overheat.

808 is a good idea. This gen SoCs are a dud anyway, just release an 820 'Pro' (note) model later.

What annoys me the most here is why LG increased the length and width of G4 despite the same screen size to G3. ( At least they could have fitted a bigger battery, I have never ever swapped a battery in my phone, no matter what).
What worries me the most is how will this leather sustain against different liquids (sweating is the most common among them) over time. I am a regular jogger and really like to take my phone with me while running.

This G4 is just crap and won't sell even 2 millions considering it's an LG and the tough competition of S6 and Chinese brands.

Yes this is where mobile phone manufacturers are taking us. These are incremental gains but not monumental improved experience for day to day users. Screens and cameras are the huge improvement, though all manufacturers that use Android need huge amounts of RAM to flog a dead horse of a bloated operating system. No matter what good manufacturers bring to the table, Android is a dog of an OS. In fact, with the probable exception of the Blackberry OS, we need relevant features, not padded out rubbish that is now infecting our mobiles. Having moved to Android just recently, I am very disappointed with just how average it really is, and how much power is required to drag along the junk software that comes with it. Good for LG to compete with Samsung, Now get the software devoid of bloatware and superfluous add-ons.

AnonD-390671, 28 Apr 2015Hi,im new to this forum. i just wwanted to know if the lg g... moreNo, it doesn't have one. However with lollipop you have a feature called smart lock, which once enabled allows you to stay unlocked if you are using any smart watch, like any Android Wear, Pebble, or others. If you walk away from your phone it will automatically lock again. Not to mention their are other methods to log you onto the phone by using your face or some other methods. So no great loss if there isn't a scanner.

[deleted post]The G4's desing lacks the elegance of a Sony Xperia flagship or an iPhone. So does the Galaxy S6. I will wait Sony's turn.
