Apple Watch review: Uncharted territory

27 May 2015
Apple certainly took its sweet time with this one. After years of rumors Apple Watch finally showed its face on September 9 last year and started to reveal its secrets. And it wasn't until the end of April that actual sales begun and with long waiting times at that...

I had a smartwatch few months back when I was trying them out, charging it was the least of my problems with them.

[deleted post]Wouldn't be much of a review if they praised everything even the points that needs critique? This is a review site. If you're only looking for praises... visit a fan site I guess.

So anyone that can't wait, should buy the cheapest they can get, as they ALL will be laughing stock in a year or two anyway.

But yes, when a manufacturer deliberately lies, or should we say 'misinforms' I find it a pity when the false and not the correct information is used in a review.

It is even more just a s misleading as when compact camera manufacturers post the products thickness ignoring a non-removable lens....

Cheating the customers to believe the product is better than it is, is seldom something people try to defend...

These smart watches would've been more attractive if they weren't similarly priced with phones. You could even get last years flagships for the base price of some of these watches...

JUST SAYING--my Samsung Gear 2's can hold up to 3-4 days with regular use. I play flappy bird and 2048 sometimes. My record was like 7 days of battery life.

And hopefully I'm gonna get the roundsmartwatch Samsung Gear A.

I don't see how the wrist turn gesture is a disadvantage... Also, the battery lasts a lot longer with normal use, around day and a half... The are two hardware keys, not one, and how it looks on someone's hand is also a disadvantage... The only disadvantages this watch has is that is way too expensive, ugly as hell, the iDevice compatibility, and the limited software customizability... And I still think smartwatches are crap... For now at least...

They failed right out of the gate with the design--the digital crown isn't centered, and immediately breaks the classic watch look, making it look like a geeky gadget. Then they ship without even on stellar watch face that elegantly fits the shape. First things first, apple--it's a watch!

Problem is Apple released a 1st gen watch when the competition is at like 5th gen. Personally, I'm eyeing a stand-alone watch with built-in calling and data connectivity like the upcoming Orbis.
