Samsung Galaxy A8 review: A-game

26 August, 2015
You don't need to be the best if you can be the crowd favorite. The Samsung Galaxy A8 is Samsung's thinnest smartphone yet and is certainly learning from the Note5 in some respects, but while it can't beat it on features it’s likely to rival it on popularity.

I'm sure it's been mentioned repeatedly.......But why Samsung. This is 5.9mm with 3,050MAH and you could only put 2,550MAH in the S6??????
Yes I know height and width of larger screen add in as well.
But it shows that at least a 2,800 or up to a 3,000MAH could have been used.
And that the Note 5 has the same size display, but is 2mm thicker.....yeah yeah...spen slot and board. ok. But they battery is actually 50MAH less.
It could have at least been 3,400MAH if not more.

Just Bought the Samsung Galaxy A8 and l found it a real cool phone. All the while i have been buying only the note series and this time round decided to give this A8 (Gold Color) a try. Love it, so class!

        - cheaper than the note and edge series
        - design
        - expandable storage with microSD
        - dual sim
        - good battery
        - wide screen
        - fingerprint sensor for security

A good midranger. Audio quality is good.
Selfie camera is good, but too much wide angle. The natural distortion is making the world look circular.

AnonD-352420, 27 Aug 2015They should have just grabbed some.old snapdragon 801, the ... moreWhen you read the review for the Galaxy Alpha you will see why that was a Premium phone
REMOVABLE BATTERY, but let down, no sacrificed by only having 32Gb non expandable memory... so a 0.5 iPhone.
IMO it would have "converted" some iPhone users to buy FAILED because NO memory expansion

this whole A range just swaps one mistake for another add memory expansion, then make the battery NON removable.

The A range is same phone various screen sizes.
Where apple got it right iphone6 and iphone 6+

What Samsung should have do is Alpha with no more than 2 more different scree size

What should have happened is Alphas
Alpha REMOVABLE BATTERY with MEMORY EXPANSION...

As you can see there is NO Alpha 2 and it's been a year

stooopid lollipop in white is especialy done so that it kills your display faster , next year you must buy another phone cause this one looks fade already...we`re talking about amoled and about LEDs premature distruction , not to mention shorter battery life cause of this...samsung should of have done something special for themselfs as soft..

I have used the new Samsung Galaxy A8 and l found that so that it is the best phone for a few reasons :

                        - cheaper than Samsung Galaxy Edge Plus or Note 5
                        - thin profile and nice to hold
                        - expandable storage with microSD
                        - dual sim for best of both worlds
                        - 16 megapixels above most moderate phone
                        - LTE Cat. 6 which is the fastest data download and upload
                        - good battery
                        - large screen at 5.7" rather than 5.5" or smallee
                        - fingerprint sensor for security

I believe if you are looking for a phone with good features and less problems this phone is the best choice. Look no more.

What you can fell and see is what matter most. Metal over plastic for aesthetic. Good quality screen over more resolution. Reliable OS over faster processor. Etc etc

I've read multiple reviews of both this phone and the OnePlus 2 and I think the Galaxy A8 is better because of the following reasons.

Why Galaxy A8 is better than OnePlus 2:
                                        1. Better battery life
                                        2. Better camera
                                        3. 5.7 inch AMOLED screen vs 5.5 inch LCD screen (I have handled the A8 and it looks so vibrant and colourful)
                                        4. The Snapdragon 810 in OnePlus 2 is not dependable as it has been proved in so many tests. OnePlus may have optimised it with software updates (read throttling), but will the processor still behave after upgrading to Android 6.0?
                                        5. Expandable memory
