i think u must stop those fighting between se n nokia or any other brands.I'm a great fan of nokia, for the ease of their use or the fonctionalities.one fact that matters a lot for consumers is being comfortable using their handsets and this is why nokia leads in this market, people trust them. Now what happens is that some people are more tecnical than others and they're looking for sensation.this is where SE,Samsung and many others come up.like I said i'm a fan of nokia but i'd die for SE or the latest samsung mobiles. It's all in what people expect from their mobile.

Agreed that SE are not bringing out high spec phones, but what they are doing is taking market share, SE have been the biggest selling manufacture for the last 9 months and are now no 3 in market share.

If you look from SE point of view, why do they need to bring out high spec handsets? They have released what 90% of the people want, good camera, goos software and UI, great music phones and looks.

Now at this moment in time consumers havent got to grips with 3G so why would thay want to add WiFi, EDGE, HSDPA when there is no demand.

SE have a great business model and design handsets on market needs and trends.

450 euro for poor cheap boring sony ericsson k810 and w880 is overkill. SE are releasing old phones in new shell for years. Look onto k750m the only good phone. Now we have its copies w800 w810 w700 k550 k610 k800 k790 k810 k618 v630 k818 w880 etc etc...

Where are SE phones with 5MP cameras? With GPS? with wi-Fi? With huge screens? which are made of metal? Which have VGA video recording? Which have mobile TV? which are smartphones with speedy processor? SE is big looser and the market know this. Their market share isn't growing (almost) for years and will not grow in my opinion.

                HelpDesk:

if you think the N and E series were the best, then think about it's crashes lags and bugs and compare it with windows devices running 5.0 version to the higher ones. performance wise nokia is nothing ahead of those, the failed P990 is still Competitive to the Nokia's N lineups, with the help of Wifi. Sony can make location free TV signals and many more. it's because of the UIQ capability. comparing the UIQ and S60, S60 is mean for having more stuffs only. UIQ is as flexible as Windows 98 being capable to recognise and add more hardwares than the S60(that's the reason SE dont make such phones as they can have every possible features by adding hardwares unlike the Nokia's S60).

now say if i don't know anything about phones?

For sure Nokia has to deliver free update service -as Microsoft does- but reason is the flaws of the software.

ok ok i understand. se has free firmware upgrade, but only through the service.still better than nothing. a while ago i saw se firmware upgrade only with payment.also i don think se will appear with anything new because they already shown 11 new models this month alone, and i don think they can develop faster than this.i like the w880 but my n73 is still the jack of all trades, especially that i need a phone capable of working with office and pdf applications.other than that watz up with sharp?i didn see nothin new for a while and they have good phones(sharp 904,903...).the same for panasonic(nothin new for a year).it looks like the company stopped dead in it's tracks...

dave you'r forgetting something.nokia is (i think) the only producer who delivers software to upgrade FOR FREE.se requires payment.and i haven't heard of firmware upgrade at any other mobile producer.samsung,lg etc are from japan so bye-bye firmware(very hard to fing and upgrade,or impossible to do home without special decoding box and software).that's the edge that nokia has over other producers.they admit their flaws and fix them for free(with nokia software updater you can do this at home in abt half a hour-or at a service if you don't succeed)

hey help desk, you are a nokia fan, but answer 1 question: how many time do u have to upgrade your phones software? nokia does lead the market but not for long because of all their software upgrades needed. i am a cellphone tech and guess what, i work on more nokia's then other phones combined. i had to do more sw upgrades on a nokia n70 then on all samsungs put together, why? dont kid yourself nokia is losing the cellphone war and quickly!

SE showed only four very poor phones, all old and boring phones in a new shell. Not surprising that SE can never compete with nokia, samsung and even moto.
who needs 2mp camera without AF in w880 when nokia is doing 3,2, optical zoom, 5MP in N95, 325x800 screen in E90, three GPS fones, tons of wi-fi fones... Not surprising that nokia owns 35% of the market and SE only 7%.
Non-functional orange walkmans are not in demand nowadays, check the price of the w880, who will but that fone with tiny 1,8 screen and poor camera for 450 euro while thin nokia 6300 cost 230 euro and has better camera, screen, speakers and design? What SE is thinking...

hey HelpDesk.. what about the PDA phones? I think they are much much much better than the Nolkia N or E series.for ex: the HTC Tytn and..
or the SE p series.. the p990.. they are much better than th N series .beacase of the touch screen you can easyly do anything.. liky easy typing by useing pen on the touch screen, but on the N or E series for ex you must push number 5 , 3 times to type F and...

also pda phone has a larg display that you can easyly see the web page on the internet, click and.... but in N or E series you can' see the full page... and it is so small...

so I think that you will find out that you are wrong.. Pda s are always the best
