Lenovo K3 Note review: Note for less

9 October, 2015
It was not that long ago that you could hardly get a feature phone for $150, and these days this amount gets you a ridiculously good smartphone like the Lenovo K3 Note. It’s an affordable large-screen phablet with little compromise on the important stuff.

The phone hangs a lot. i discovered it lately that the keypad doesnt supports chatting. many keys need by either hard pressed or typed repeatedly to complete. not at all a good experience. Has uniquely hidden defects which takes time to show up.

It's a value for money phone without compromising on certain basics. The more you load apps the more an android phone will start to lag. I use this as a second phone especially for 4G in India and am quite satisfied with it. Battery - no one will be watching videos for long hours nor would I keep the WiFi on for long unless I keep charging the mobile. With 4g/3g on, I am able to pull the phone through the day, not much talking either. I keep all apps closed, no apps running in background either which is the real battery drainer.

I don't love the phone, but I like your article. Write a novel or something :-)

The reviewed device has a Chinese ROM. Those who live somewhere other than China can easily flash the Indian ROM. Though it is stuck on Android 5.0 for now, it addresses some of the problems of the Chinese version. There is absolutely no Chinese writings. You have lollipop-style notifications and task manager. There is a dedicated Dolby option in the settings which improves the audio quality a lot! In the Indian ROM, you can easily use third-party launchers with no problem (in the Chinese ROM, you can't add widgets). The problem of phone's display is it has a high minimum brightness, and is not suitable for use dark environments. The battery is good. With minimum brightness (which is not really dim) and internet browsing by Wi-Fi, I get 5 hours sot with 30% left. Could remember these right now! 😉

AnonD-378091, 08 Oct 2015And Audio Quality test???yeah - miss that too - usually a compromise on audio output drivers in the class. OK for line in but high THD with headphone. Sadly getting common except the most expensive devices.
