LG Nexus 5X review: Settling down

16 November, 2015
Some think that it's time for Google to start making its own hardware, the closest we have today is the Nexus series. The Nexus 5X, co-designed by Google and LG, is the mid-range offering and a respite from the 6" Nexus last year, leaving its sibling to fill the premium, large-screen role.

Hi there

For those of you that have experience with both the Nexus 5X and LG G4, please inform me on the camera quality between the two.

I currently have a G4 and I hate the LG UI. Is the Nexus 5X on par with the G4 in the camera department or does it fall behind?

I look forward to your response!

Warm regards

Sound quality from the 5X speaker is horrible. Worst I've ever heard. Otherwise it's a fantastic phone.

I recently broke my sd card slot on my moto g and figured it wasn't worth fixing. Now that I'm looking around for a relatively low priced smartphone with good specs I found this review to be great and I might just get the nexus 5x

I am using this Nexus 5X 5days. It's really nice performance and very bad battery backup and display. This mobile is giving battery backup upto 6Hrs only. I really worried abt this. Even though I checked different sim/network but very wrost battery backup and screen brightness is not good.

Nexus 5x ram 2gb and on board 16/32gb only ..... But the processors are too high like z5 and s6.... Ppl called midrange but its high end mobile in lower price ,,,, i saw this mobile ppl who wants to use hi speed selects this ... Even z5 or s6 or m9 were slower to comparing this ... Dont see 2gb there is some thing more than ram with processor... Price is midrange but procesor iss tooo big best no heat

I don't get it why this is called a "mid-range" "lower end SOC" LGG4 has the same kind of SoC but it is not called a mid range phone. Why this one?

Nexus 5X should be priced much lower than $379. OnePlus and Motorola produce better devices in the same price range. I considered buying N5X, but could not justify paying this price for its pedestrian specs.

It's probably encryption that slows down the storage and that produces noticeable lag in places. It's not horrific, but still annoying. Lower-end SoC and lack of RAM doesn't help either.
Hopefully Android devices take on NVMe NAND storage.
