Huawei Watch review: Smart and pretty

20 November, 2015
Smartwatches offer few practical uses, have terrible battery life, and are little more than plasticky toys – you’ve heard the rants. Well, while we’re waiting for developments on the first two counts, the Huawei Watch addresses the last one.

AnonD-85574, 20 Nov 2015I recently bought a 1st gen silver still Moto 360, for 180$... moreThe Moto 360 was cool until other companies started launching smart watches with perfect round displays so now it's one of those "it's cool if you don't know better" kind of things.

Funny you recently bought one and supposedly because of the design, I would maybe buy one for the functionality or the cheap price to get me into the smart watch crowd but the design would probably be the last reason now. I'm a do it right or don't do it kind of person, so I'd never ever be able to accept that flat tire.

I recently bought a 1st gen silver still Moto 360, for 180$ (197 with tax) and IMO it looks way better (it looks like a Smartwatch, not a classic one, its a modern time piece so it should look like one. also I don't like 2nd gen moto 360 's design for the same reason)

and also, you made a mistake in the article, it has wifi

Also those lugs holding the strap to the watch are not as ergonomically curved as the new Moto360 watch - apparently they leave a gap between the connection to the actual watch and your wrist.

Since vibration is one the most important means of notification in a smartwatch, any review should include the evaluation of how strong it is in real life and if you tell notifications apart. Looks and software can be very important, nevertheless if a smartwatch fails in that department, then it is basically a worthless piece of tech. This issue continues to be one of the biggest flaws in almost every single smartwatch review, including yours. Please correct that in future reviews.
