Apple iPad Pro review: Slate of the art

30 November, 2015
In the rumor mill for two years, with a probability of near zero for the better part thereof, the iPad Pro was made official in September and is shipping worldwide as we speak. Guess we already know what’s been going on under the surface but the bottom line is Apple lets you decide about the optional pencil and keyboard.

Galaxy Tab S2 is more capable in a lot of ways such as multiwindow multitasking, support for SD card slot, OTG storage, etc.

"It (Surface Pro) doesn't run OS X though, which may be a problem if you're invested in the Apple ecosystem."

Neither does the iPad pro . It runs iOS which is poorly suited for the use case this tablet targets. The surface blows this out of the water.

iPad Pro - a hybrid with more bias towards the tablet functionality.
Surface Pro - a hybrid with more bias towards the laptop functionality.

Both products have flaws. Neither are bang-for-the-buck devices - they were never meant to be. They were supposed to be technological showcases - proof that combining laptop and tablet technology can be done in a very refined manner. It's just that the 2 companies decided to approach it in two different ways.

But tim said that it's not like a surface book nor its a laptop replacement. So it will still declared as a mobile and not a contender for the surface pro. So even if it has the detachable keyboard and stylus. It's still a mobile.

The iOS UI look pretty wierd on the big screen, i mean the maximum 4 icons in a row on a 12+ inch tablet is kind of not good, but overall this is a really good piece of tech!

Galaxy Note Pro??? Are they for real? And mentioning Surface Pro second, as if bad enough, without even including photo. Nudging the readers much?

The Surface Pro is clearly the main competitor of the iPad Pro.

They both support detachable keyboards, styluses and multiple app windows. Both advertise themselves as "pro". Anyway Windows these days is no longer just a desktop OS.
