change keeps happenin & it favoured android or shitty samsung etc..only symbian got hurt,not nokia(that too for a while only,as basic handsets still rule everywhere)..amongst booming os's n companies,nokia smartly did a big bucks deal n got bought by microsoft,couldn't make win fones as per clause for a while but earned 3bn $ thru deal n bcame world's largest network infrastructure provider..microsoft lumias r not at all solid,durable,reliable,friendly UI,app worthy HERE drive maps like nokia( as expected..) in 2013 nokia was using Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus Processor ( lumia 620 etc.) while Samsung & MI started its use only in costlier & recent models only..d only basic handset i ever used n still have is nokia 1280,bought it 26 times as its d best fone ever..but unfortunately discontinued in india & nokia105 is just not equal to it..have a lumia 620,which is my 1st smartfone n its superb..hope nokia comes back but with win fones n shows d world,who's d daddy..always nokia.. yaay!! nokia rules as always..f..k microsoft..

I have had the phone for two weeks. No sign of the creaking back cover referred to by others. It can run hot but no gloves are required. I had trouble with using the browser reading some newspaper websites.There is an easyread button which appears after a few seconds with most pages, so microscopes are not needed. As others say, the big drawback is the range of apps available. Personally I find the flexibility of the home page more than compensates. I haven't used Continuum yet. I'm not sure of the point as my Surface is brilliant and we make massive use of dropbox in any case. But I suppose for a salesman it could make sense. It's a classy device.

Anyway everybody has different tastes. but in grid system you told, please dont commnt if you are not sure of something. Firstly ios and android has grid layout and microsoft choosed a different way to differentiate. personally I love the live tiles and boxes as I can resize and alocate however I want. But if you are a real fan of grid system you can do it too. just resize all the tiles in same size and put them like you hav in android and ios. so you can do if you want.

I understand Microsoft markets this as having 4 mics, it is true for the 950, I can allocate all the mics, but for the 950 xl I can only find 3. One on the bottom of the screen, 2 on the back, cannot find any mic above my screen! Also on the quick start guide it shows only 3! On this review it was mentioned there is one above the screen, can you show me exactly where this is?

also operating system it self looks very shit, even dont have a grid system for icons, everything looks like a ms dos, when you compare it with android and ios. windows not colorful

I'm from India too and A... moreif you love iPhone then why you keep looking at lumia Facebook page. have a look at iPhone Facebook page you will definitely see complaints about how apple treat their customers. on Facebook when somebody likes something they just clicks like button since there is no dislike button others use comment box. if you are from India and want use India apps like what he mentioned you better go for Android. not iPhone. but for me every platform has all apps I need. what I am looking is value for money. if windows has a good value for money phone I will definitely go for it. and if there is an apple or Android which is better value for money than it then I will go for it too. that's why I am still on Android

I'm from India too and Apple just crossed 1 million mark in October, go and check Microsoft Lumia FB page and see people crying about lack of apps. If you have apps NO updates! And people want useful apps, no one cares how many apps does it provide in numbers overall!
And why does WhatsApp have crappy interface on Windows platform, my sister complained and later throwed that garbage XD

Z5/P can do 53mins.(... moreWell my lumia 930 use to record like 20-30 minutes without stop but because the phone auto stops most apps(including video record) to cool the phone, and since the 950 has liquid cooling i would assume that it records until theres ni more space left. And come on.. whos gonna video.record that much? (And when thr 930 auto stopa recording it saves what it recorded already)

Did Microsoft ever advertise or suggest you could run CAD or any Win32 programs on it? If you think about it, when Remote Desktop is released as a Universal app (apparently not far away) you'll be able to run the apps on your desktop using Continuum. No matter which way you look at it, that's a pretty cool and very useful feature - hardly what I'd term a fraud...

In a nutshell, it feels so easy and natural for a Windows 10 user, the OS is cleaned up considerably from previous versions, and Microsoft is improving the experience weekly. I wish the video autofocus wasn't so busy but it's not a deal breaker. Both the 950 and 950 XL are great phones. Thanks for the detailed review.

If you really want a phablet get the Sony Z Ultra, it's a gorgeous 6.4" device and completely outclasses this 950XL.

these phone just cool but in this price huawei p8 or mate s far better than 950 ,,,,
