Samsung's re-invention has gone into season 2 with the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge. They ramp up the camera to a whole new level, make the display Always On and retool the other features.

I'm lucky enough to have used it where I work and it's amazing especially the camera in low light and the build quality.Now be quiet.

I usually choose not to reply to people who hide behind a nominate, or cannot be bothered to sign in, but clearly I incited you to feel compulsed to correct my viewpoint and steer the masses towards a full understanding of the new Samsung flagships weakness.

            Personally I just don't think it suits you. That is fine. I am glad you are open to at least considering their new product.

            Personally I don't care.
            Yes I use a Note.
            With removable battery and upgradable memory and Infrared sender.
            I have not upgraded as present items do not serve my interests.

            Now... With regards to phones junking themselves after two years... Only if users keep taking the battery below 10%, and then fast charging or wireless charging (heat kills batteries).

            Leaving a phone on the cars dashboard, in full sunlight in a parked car would do it too.

            Guess what.. Not user replaceable doesn't mean not replaceable.

            And I have a heap of phones five to seven years old with OLED and perfectly working batteries.

            I simply suggest you have a mindset against the Samsung. I am not the fanboy you claim, and whilst I have not read any of your other comments... I hazard a guess you prove fanatical and compelled to 'educate', repeating you beliefs all over the place.

            This is good.
            I am sure some of the things you share prove meaningful to others,.. and we all like it when others agree with us, so no doubt you have found a like group here amongst.

            Whilst Samsung have variations on the S7 design, the design, if openable by the user would loose thinness, and water and dustproofness.

            I think more people will be served with this design ideal, and I restate, perhaps not for you.

              Any phone with non-removable battery is just a disposable phone. All of them will become a junk, a paperweight after 1-2 years because the batteries lose capacity over time. Especially if you are a heavy user/gamer and you charge your phone every day, or 2 times a day. It lessens the value of the phone if you want to sell it or buy it second hand.
              Non-removable battery = planned obsolescence.

              Using a power bank/portable charger is not a solution, because it means more frequent charging which further shortens the phone's battery lifespan (the same applies to high current/quick charging as well). The other problem with powerbank is that you have to carry one more device and a charging cable. The power bank won't save your phone if the battery in your phone has bulged and won't hold a charge.

              The best and proper way to extend battery life is to replace it to a bigger, higher capacity extended battery. For example ZeroLemon has made a 10000mAh extended battery for Galaxy Note 4 (the last Samsung flagship with removable battery). It has 3x the capacity of the original Note 4 battery. It wipes the floor with your power bank.

              And higher capacity battery means less frequent charging which means longer battery life.

              The only disadvantages of Galaxy S7 are that it has AMOLED screen (suffers from burn-in problem), no FM Radio and non-removable battery. Among these disadvantages, only the non-removable battery is the deal breaker (I can compromise with the other 2). Besides these problems, S7 is the best phone today (best camera, best UI features (Touchwiz), liquid cooling, gaming features).

              So if S7 had removable battery, it would be my next phone. Why is it hard for Samsung to create A VARIANT of S7 that has removable battery? They already make different versions of their flagship devices. And those versions doesn't have any useful differences. A version with removable battery would make sense and with that variant Samsung would fit, satisfy most people's needs.

                    I agree with the issue being a requirement for wall power is the defeat of fast charging.
                    (We don't always have access to wall power)
                    That the op is willing to carry around a power brick is the end of the argument.

                    Yes we can argue the trivialities or specific needs of one being not relevant, or a right fit for everyone (I doubt there are many products that are the perfect fit for seven billion people), but in my eyes, I would prefer to carry a universal power brick that holds 2.5x the charge capacity of my battery, in a waterproof unit with a torch included, than carry a specific battery (with exposed terminals) for one device.

                    The battery brick that is not much larger than a replacement battery that can charge up my Nintendo and Sony portable, recharge my portable head mounted display, my Walkman and tablet (as well as phone) is clearly more practical usage of the space and weight.

                    The manufacturers know this. They also know that most consumers don't need a swappable battery, nor in the first three years of the device are unlikely to have major battery issues (if using correct charging practises).
                    Selling waterproofed and thin devices however is practical for everyone.

                    This argument for a NEED (not a WANT) for replaceable battery just isn't sound enough to risk losing sales.

                    Look forums are filled with opinions, and people sharing their opinion is welcome.
                    Opinions are not facts, no matter how much we want to change others mindsets to be like our own way of thinking.

                    But, let's keep sensationalism down, or, here counter arguments and give them credit where credit is due.

                    It is like complaining that phones with upgradable memory (SD card) slots are a fail if they don't also come in a range of 'included' memory sizes eg 32GB 64GB AND 128GB.

                    It would be a crime to the shareholders of said tech company to think that the idea is viable, and attempt to sell it.

                    Listening to loud voiced forum goers isn't going to always yield results.

                    So we forum goers have a responsibility to keep the focus on the things that matter (which removable batteries, given the above usage, are probably not essential)

                    So 'niches' who insist their need is the whole markets' need, and want the most mainstream of phones to follow THEIR design ideals, are probably not the voices we want to raise above more mainstream wants like, for an example, the option for expandable storage.

                      OK, once again we do this dance with Samsung, NO REMOVABLE BATTERY, arrrgggg! IDC if it charges in 30 Mins or 30secs , point is you need a power supply, and if you have a power supply the hole point is moot. Next time your in the field check a tree or puddle for an electrical outlet that's why you need a replaceable battery so when there's no power supply you can swap out to a fully charged or 20 fully charged batts, what's so dificult in that concept! As fur batteries if I have to have a rechargable brick I'm gonna wait and see the HTC ONE M9 MAX, SUPPOSEDLY its commin out with a 4000mah batt and an octacore snapdragon 820 and 30% cheaper then the samshaft s7 , and let's not forget the HTC has stereo front facing speakers which are 100x better then anything Samsung offers or any otter comp offers, my m7 w/ beats audio sounds 100x better than my s4, s5, S6, sis's lg and my blaws iPhone 6 , plus it appears the M10 will just be a better overall phone w/iris scan etc than the s7...i guess we'll waite & see... I have a gut feeling Samsung is gonna be sitting on a lot of phones, once again!,,, like they did when they released the S6,,, serve's them right

LG5 is fine, but S7 is better. s7 = better gorilla glass, moisture/dust protection, more available ROM, heart rate sensor, faster processor, better screen visibility outside, fingerprint and Iris detection, Samsung Pay, better battery endurance etc. The LG5 wins in a few categories, but S7 wins in a lot of categories.
