As I am a music lover, the para on 'audio' was most interest. I currently use Micromax fire4 with Soundmagic E10 ep. The phone uses Cirrus Logic- Wolfson DAC to enhance audio. Better than my previous phones both on spkrs ( 2 front firing) and on ep. No complaints on HF end but the bass lacks that 'thump'. Is the RN3 better than the xperia series? Hi guys, my name is Akshay. For those who want a straight brief answer about buying this phone..BUY IT!!... I have been using this for a week(snapdragon version)..and these are my observations.
Excellent screen on time from 6 to 7 hours.
Xiaomi has managed to skim off much of the bloatware...just u have few important apps such as mi store.. Mi bug reporting tool and normal gapps..
After buying the phone..I made sure I Dont load my phone with tons of apps..very important..
Apps I currently run
MX player
WhatsApp
Solid explorer
Facebook and messenger
Game:Modern Combat 5
And I am get up to 1.5 days on single charge..under following conditions
Light WiFi usage
Always on 2G
And light gaming
On heavy usage ..such as all day on WiFi and 2 to 3 movies and a lot of music to kill weekends ..I got it up to a day..
Add playing games to above usage and its surely last 18 to 20 hour's..
Camera was a hugeeee disappoinent. It does not take good photos..very sharp ages..and ypu zoom in to find lot of noise..front camera also offers decent job...forget night pgotography coz the camera struggles to take an average shot..default video recording is only up to 1080p..but u can use google camera and record up to 4k..no idea why xiaomi has done this.. But its decent...locking misses at times..
Fingerprint scanner..now this is where you may face some trouble...hardwares excellent and its got flagship level accuracy...but the problem arises when your phone is set aside locked for a long time..and especially if you are riding a bike with huge vibrations...It does not accept your fingerprint and you'll have to unlock using password...but later it works well..its just software and nothing wrong with hardware..you can flash AOSP ROMs available and it runs well with no fingerprint issues..
Charging takes up to 2 hour's for 5 to 100..and maybe 30 to 40 from 50 to 100..
Phone heats while charging but acceptable as the charges is 2Amps charger.
Display is okay..I have z2 and lg g3..and I would say..you feel the display is OK..I mean colours and wallpapers come out good...but when you watch 1080p videos...blacks and darker shades appear bitbpatch..as if some one has poured some water colours..you can use MX player and its custom codes to better the situation..but you can't expect a high end display..for the price range.. I give it a thumbs up..
No double tap to wake is another disappointment.
Audio..now this is the reason where you will be surprised..the headphone output is deadly..I loved the audio quality on the 3.5 mm jack..iPod lovers will find same quality..kills Xperia ...I suspect presence of Dirac audio..as I felt I just saw it across in some settings..after getting this phone.. I would recommend you to buy these earphones and headphones.
JBL TA100i costs 799in India..powered by Harman acoustics..and coupled with the remix note 3...you'll not miss the boom of bass in your earphones.
Sony MDR-XB450.. Do not buy these from eBay as youlbget fakes...buy from Amazon or flipkart...costs around 2500...these earphones coupled with remix note 3 will let you immerse in theatre like effects...bass and thump is something you love with these headphones and performance goes neck on with other 8000 to 10000 ranged headphones...
Call quality was excellent...
Speaker is not that great..not the loudest but in indoor conditions its fairly good...
Glass on this device is NOT GORILLA OR DRAGON TRAIL...xiaomi has made a fake video that the phone can withstand a var driven over it..but please...its fake and it cracks from just a 3 feet vertical drop..
Notheless..I HV put this phone with instruments like scalpels,dividers ..n coins and keys..its perfect n far withstand these objects..
But if youbhv been to a sandy area such as beach...DO NOT WIPE THE GLASS SINCE SAND WILL EASILY SCRATCH YOUR GLASS..use a sanitiser or blow it to remove sand.. N then wipe..
Gaming..boy of boy..the adreno 510 nails any game you play...except with nova 3 which lags due to compatibility issues with adreno 510..any game ran butter smooth at high graphics..Games tested are

WiFi on this device is powerful and has a fairly good range.
IR blaster is perfect and works with peel remote too...I used this device to control my sony TV..big TV DTH..Panasonic air conditioner..really good range..
SOME IMPORTANT ADVICES:

Please install any update u get from xiaomi..its necessary to fix any bugs..
On using the phone first time..update the phone immediately with all updates...tons of issues will be resolved.
If you arewearing tight jeans or you pants tighten while riding bike or sitting...please keep the display facing your inwards...the phone has no bendgate..but keeping the glass facing inwards prevents any bending gesture..

Have they gone unanimous against people for not proving dedicated slots.? Dual sim have no meaning if second one is hybrid because some day the user will end up using 2nd slot as memory card. Seriously, take my 150maH space and give me dedicated slot.

If not, will it need a ... moreworks well with both sims and a memory card also stuffed along with. needs some tweaking for all 3 to work. everything is as advertised. only heating issues during charging and airplane network error is prominent. rest works fine. keep updating to latest f/w and it will work allright. yet to hear from MI regarding airplane on/off issue leading to no network problem which can be resolved only by rebooting everytime. value for money but not good if you need to airplane all the time. hope to see it fixed. mine is 32gb/gold/snapdragon firmware global 7.2 stable 7.2.5.0(LHOMIDA)

I have using this redminote3 from last december 2015 . unfortunately get a dualsim. Wich mean i cant use external memorycard. But its okey because i have a OTG flash. ;)
Performance is good.
Display is good.
But low perform in sunlight display.
Anothers is good perform.
