Smartphone buyer's guide: April 2016

20 April, 2016
The major releases for the first half of 2016 are out, time to see what’s worth spending your hard earned cash on. For all the flagship goodness we saw at the MWC (and other events), there’s an equal measure of amazing entry-level and midrange handsets out there.

After previously owning and experiencing Android, Windows Phone, Blackberry and iOS, I personally would not consider any phone except an iPhone. The reasons for that are the build quality, ease of use, zero lag, the look, support, plenty of accessories and last but not least, how it looks and feels. Sure iOS has its limitations but for someone who doesn't plan to flash custom roms, tweak, modify or play around with loads of settings, the iPhone is perfect. As they say, it just works.

Nice, Nexus 6 made it to the list. The poor-ish audio chip is the biggest flaw, I love the plastic-aluminum mix of the body. Good camera, good battery life and fast updates.

this guide is extremely lacking, especially phones at the 100-200 range you can get 3gb ram phones with lolipop and 32gb storage , i get that its what this site reviews butt samsung is probably the worst brand at this price point

the best brands for your money @100-200 are Cubot,Ulefone,Xiaomi, leeco, meizu, oukitel
even THL released a nice budget phone recently and they have been pretty inactive

the high end phones are good, as expected these belong to the mainstream

there are so many good phones out there, sad reality is though that its a popularity contest out there and lots of great phones get hidden i bet no one knows that the qiku q terra beat the p9 at duoscopic cameras last year

You should stop recommending phones released in 2014 and 2015. People buy them then complain why there are no updates

Shut up GSMarena.. No iphone 6s /plus in the list, and so many craps out there, I got the Sammy's s7. It's a nice phone, but it's my 16 months old iphone 6 plus is way better ven it comes to gaming and browsing through Internet. This is all does matters to me.. Galaxy lags in both. I only can imagine how iphone 6s fills and work.

500-600 range full of plastic toys. You can get Iphone se 64gb space gray under 600. Its real phone with metal and glass design. Its best in this range. Thanx

Anonymous, 20 Apr 2016I think of all the previous smartphone buyers guide publish... moreCompletely agree with you. Not only A5, but also the HTC A9 which is just overpriced way beyond what is offers.
