HTC 10 review: Greatest hit

02 May, 2016
The HTC 10 is everything an HTC fan has been longing for. A full smartphone package experience without compromise. The problem with this idea is that it doesn’t exist, there will always be some phone with a better camera or better battery or a larger display. But we can always look at this idea subjectively and find the right balance between what the phone offers versus compromises you might be making.

Anonymous, 06 May 2016what all i see is all butthurt htc fanboys keep saying htc ... moreAnd your statement is based on what facts? What evidence? Phone just came out, the review is done without the latest HTC updates. the S7 might be a bit better, but lets compare a used HTC 10 and a used S7 after 1 year. And let s see which one lags, is scratched and cracked. And I am telling you, it wont be the HTC 10

Anonymous, 04 May 2016My galaxy s6 have worst battery ever my old htc m8 have way... moreS7 is not much better, batterytests here are decieving.
Its not videotime or browsing time, its standby time that is the problem....
Also display tech between oled and lcd makes a big difference concerning the video test you use.

There are benchmark battery tests that put s7 to shame, with only 4 hours on screen time...

there is a new report flooding around that some portion of htc 10 screen are supplied by a second-tier display maker. this may explain why 10 display is so bad, bye bye htc.

what all i see is all butthurt htc fanboys keep saying htc is the best, fantastic, bah bah bah bah, but there is a lot of evidence showing htc 10 is worse than competitors and those fanboys cannot provide any data, fact, evidence.

Anonymous, 05 May 2016Now the slowest of all flagships. Good job HTC. http://w... morebut experience and daily usage show different result. always htc runs programs better than other rivals (with the same specs). all of we know that htc has many positive point like other brands.eg: sony has IP certificate and .... htc has better soundTthe best android UI and ... so when htc has the best UI for sure its phones dedicate better experience and very soft and quick in compare to other rivals.why you don't mention many benchmarks like antutu where htc 10 squashes other flagships.
yes in antutu htc 10 scores more than 154000 and it's really amazing.the closest to htc10 is lg g5 with 20000 under it. and other 2016 flagships are in garbage...:)
for sure htc did well job in 10 and this phone is cause of your presentation here. your jealousy comment show the good work of htc.it's better every body write about his/her favorite phone or write about what he/she knows.
all android phones start to lag or delay after 1 year usage except htc...
i agree all flagships are good enough but I'd rather have htc because sound quality and body style and quality, UI and .... to support and update is very important for me and i chose htc but you said all other are good except htc. and this is out of sense or without any thinking before.... i happy to see this, because when enemy and jealousy opinion appears, its cause of doing well, and if not why you are here?????
go to your favorite page and leave us here alone with the best phone of 2016.
                      bye

I'm currently hunting for a new phone. My options are S7 Edge, LG G5 and HTC 10. Based on the research I've done, data's gathered, and insults I've had to endure, here are the simple things I've found.

S7/S7 Edge; Great Hardware, terrible software that slows down and bottlenecks the phones true potential. UI lags over time and requires scheduled cleaning. Also, the user experience (to me) is not the best.

LG G5; Great concept, terrible execution. Specification wise, it looks amazing, and it is amazing, with the modular design and what not. UI is smooth, not alot of hiccups. But, the build quality of the phone is just atrocious. Don't get me started with with the terrible quality control from LG's side. Alot of complaints about the module being loose, not being flush to the body of the phone, jagged edges where the module connects, and the list goes on. There's also other software problems (that could be probably fixed over an update).

HTC 10; Amazing build quality. Great hardware. Even though having the SD820 inside, it's a tad bit slower than the LG G5, and slower multi-core speed compared to the Exynos 8890. Slower in-built memory r/w speed, which will hinder the phones speed to load up applications and accessing documents and multimedia. But it's not a perfect phone, nor there will ever be one. Problems will arise, only time could tell.

Based on the list above, I'm leaning heavily towards HTC for now. I'm quite eager to try the HTC 10 when it's available, as it will be my first HTC phone.
