[deleted post]Is this prohibited? I was also in hurry when i buyed v3max mi5 flash sales were off and Lenovo vibe x3 was out of stock and online supply is not available in my city and after buying v3max I am feeling satisfied as it nicely suffices my requirements ok its bit on costlier side but what to do when the options are limited and when you compare it with samsung a7 you will find it rightly priced remind You vivo/oppo replaced Lenovo/ xiaomi from top5 smart phone vendors so compare prices from top tier manufacturers

AnonD-322352, 07 May 2016I thought this was an Oppo phone, lol.Oppo and Vivo many a times look similar and it is completely normal that they share designs and hardware components to save R&D costs. After all both of them along with OnePlus belongs to BBK Electronics of China.

U is rightVivo have been the pioneer of implementing HiFi music in smartphones. Born in a house of music lovers, naturally I am inclined to their products. That said all their phones do not have good audio quality. Only their flagship X series comes with some reputable audio hardware that is good for music. In India, till now they released four X series phones in X3S, Xshot, X5Max & X5Pro. I had the opportunity to experience all of them, and the phone that repeatedly stands out in terms of audio quality, looks and overall product quality is the X5Max. I said it many times before and I will say it again, X5Max is their masterpiece.
The 1st Gen of V series phones where actually designed for India, as it is Vivo's second biggest market next to their homeland China. Again I own their V1 and have used their V1Max, they are quite well built phones at sky high price. V1 sound quality is just low quality, the V1Max comes with a fuggy display and uses the same chip of V3Max, so there sound quality is mediocre.
From what I hear(I may be wrong), Vivo from this year onward is not going to introduce their new X series globally. This is because by pitching their X-series models at very high price and in not having the global recognition of Samsung or LG, nobody are buying their X-series phones. So they are at loss. Which is understandable as only 5% of the smartphone crowd in interested in sound quality of smartphones.
Another aspect of Vivo is they shamelessly follows Apple. Prior with their X5 series they had their own designs (which were good) while their OS was a full carbon copy of Apple iOS software built upon Android. They call it Funtouch OS. Believe it or not, it is very intuitive to use as it a full copy of iOS. And as an end consumer I least care if their software is derived from Apple. All I care about is a smooth, intuitive and lag free experience which the Funtouch OS provides.
From their X6 series onward they are also deriving the look of iPhones along with their OS. They have gone making Android Apple clones. And believe me they are good at that. Again I don't care as long as the it looks good and fells solid in hand. The new V3 & V3Max seems to keep the X6 theme. I have not used it, but I bet the product quality will be good and the phone will be good. For sure I will not buy it as it does not excels in any area be it audio quality, product quality or just anything. And the price is just too steep. You can have more or less equivalent experience at half the price of V3Max.

There i was, thinking "hey, that looks like a good enough phone! i'm assuming it's dirt cheap", and then in the last page it turns out it's within arms reach of both the A9 and the OnePlus 2.
So basically only people who cant get their hands on any of those two and die hard Vivo fans will be the only ones getting this phone.

As per vivo website the integrated (DAC + Headphone Amplifier) used in V3Max is AKM AK4375. Please rectify this in the review.
This is just a mediocre audio chip with limited capabilities, so it didn't surprise me with headphones attached everything quickly went south. That said the V series is the midrange series from Vivo while the X series remains their flagship. If audio is what one is looking then the year old Vivo-X5Max is still the ultimate phone.
As always the price is absurdly high at INR 24K in India. There are many better phones availabe at this price.
