Xiaomi Mi Max review: Hulked up

06 June 2016
Goodbye Alexander Bell, hello Tim Berners-Lee and Ray Tomlinson. The inventor of the telephone would not have approved of the hulking 6.44" but the Xiaomi Mi Max is the kind of device the pioneers of WWW and email would love it.

Miui has 2 app switcher modes: the one you presented, and a more "visual" one: you have to pinch-zoom in the "standard" app switcher to unleash the second mode. And you're right, the default camera settings are usually sharpening too much.

      FYI: there's a 2/16GB version available that's a little bit less expensive.

TBH after reading this I'm having a hard time justifying this over the Redmi note 3 pro. I mean for more money you get a bigger screen and battery.... but the screen is worse, the loudspeaker is worse and this thing is huge. Not impressed.

Contrary to what's written in the review, the phone does support fast charging; just not with the stock charger. Although I am not sure if its Qualcomm Fast Charge 2.0 or 3.0. I have a Qualcomm Fast Charge 2.0 charger and it charges the Mi Max from 6% to 100% in about 2 hours.

Great battery life for such a large phone shows better efficiency than Asus Zenfone Max ZC550KL. Camera is a bit weak even compared to OPO in broad daylight.
