OnePlus 3 review: Confidence booster

24 June 2016
A great act is tough to follow and sometimes delivering two great devices in a row requires that you take a completely different approach with the successor. Now on its third "flagship killer" (with the OnePlus X taking a different path), OnePlus has taken on the tough task to mature from a business standpoint, while still retaining that ambitious "never settle" attitude that brought it where it is today.

I can read on your review for OnePlus 3 :
Battery time is great. At 66 hours of endurance rating, it manages to match and even top its predecessors, despite the 3,000 mAh battery. Call endurance is particularly good.
      Also on Blackberry Priv review:
With an endurance rating of 62h the battery life is good overall, but it's on the lower side of the segment.
I’m not a fan of blackberry. But it seems to me that you really like OnePlus 3 :)

AnonD-461537, 24 Jun 2016Poor Battery life. No expandable storage (microSD card slo... moreIt has poor battery life, that's for sure. But considering this flagship phone costs as much as most of the mid range offerings I think the compromises made here are not that bad.
The screen has FHD resolution, you don't actually need more on a phone. The difference between Full HD and QHD is almost not visible, but as benchmark shows it is a massive difference in performance.
Camera here is good too, not the best but really good.
No Micro SD slot is bad, but you have 64 GB in the base version, which is good enough as well.
4G speeds are the same as any other flagship with Snapdragon 820.
No dust and water resistance as in most of the flagships this year.
RAM management is an issue right now, but there's a simple fix. One+ also said they are working on an official fix too.
One+ 3 is not the best phone on the market. But it's the best in its price range.

Main problem is the battery life. Should have been slightly thicker with a bigger battery. But it could be poor optimisation too.

The resolution should have been higher too.

Other than that it looks great, especially for the price.

So you guys didn't notice any artifacts on the display like Anand's review mentioned? Hmm! That should be good for the owners. The camera samples are good I think, especially given the typically low price, don't know how 60 fps is skipped nowadays anyway!, however even HTC 10 doesn't have it. Good job I suppose by One Plus team.

I'm still annoyed at how they used a 5.5" screen and a 3,000mAh battery. One is too big and the other is too small.
