Samsung at IFA 2016: Gear S3 hands-on

Samsung dedicated this year's IFA solely to its smart wearables and introduced the Samsung Gear S3. It's a smartwatch that improves on both halves of its name - it looks and feels much more like a traditional watch, while functionality is on par with a smartphone.

I have the Samsung Frontier, I'm going on vacation to the Bahamas in december, the Frontier isn't rated for saltwater? Maybe I miss read the article. But it sounded like it's not safe.

    I had a Gear , Gear S , and then shifted to Huawei Smartwatch . Always on has been wonderful feature for my Huawei Smartwatch. lot more watch faces then tizen OS.

    And saying that tizen OS is miles ahead from Android wear is absolutely wrong. I love android wear compared to tizen

            I've owned the Gear S, S2, and cannot wait for the S3 Frontier. I get about 12 hours on my S2, lots of notifications. Only Bluetooth turned on. Always on screen makes very little difference in battery life for me, it seems. I've been disappointed with the size of the s2 so this is great news for me, being a person with a larger build. I always thought the Tag Heuer Connected design and size were most suited to my tastes. This S3 looks very similar for a lot less $. As for apps, Apple has learned, as everyone else is, people are using smart watches for 1) Fashion 2) Timekeeping 3) Fitness Tracking 4) Notifications. Most apps are used to play with for a day or so then forgotten.

              let me ask..is this still a niche product or are people mass purchasing wearable tech??

                but tizen is a dead platform that wont get any apps.

                and google isnt really behind in features.

                            Definitely want the frontier. Maybe if i have enough cash...

                              I don't believe Tizen is the next big thing.
                              Don't forget Nokia are comming early 2017 with some top of the line Android phones with no doubt best cameras on the market in which Nokia are good.

Leather may tend to last long but in long run they look dirty. That's the reason you have customizable rubber bands. Making the customization cheaper.

                                      Now we have smartwatches screen growing ever bigger.. Can't imagine strapping a 3inch smartwatch screen on your hand in 2018
