Sony at IFA 2016: Xperia XZ and X Compact hands-on

31 August 2016
Asus folks certainly had a stretch of sleepless nights preparing for this year's IFA and brought a huge number of devices - some entirely new, others already announced, but not all of them available.

AnonD-361638, 03 Sep 2016blue is looking great on XZ.The color itself is looking good, but it doesn't make the boxy design any better in my opinion.

                Xperia super duper bezels

Maybe when S8/others come out next year we can expect real flagship like that Z5Premium, including hdr screen, and maybe new sensors(camera/...), mainly some hw innovation, not second/third coming of Z5.

Sony fired their design department a while ago. Their 2016 lineup is crap. Honestly what is the appeal of any sony smartphone after the z series.

Very nice. Hope to see a full fledged flagship in the near future though. And with more crammed pixels they need to use a brighter aperture.

Just wanna make sure I read that right: The X Compact isn't crippled at all except for the screen, processor, camera, water/dust proofing, battery, and build material. Ok......

                                  Good job, Sony. RIP.

Sony's sample shots show poor dynamic range, with total loss of detail in some bright spots.

Kind of surprising for a new sensor. Lack of OIS is also a big minus. Overall, lame phone. I was never too happy with my old Xperia anyway, and nothing I see here is much of an improvement.

X Compact is the sibling of the Xperia X not the XZ which is why it has midrange components. They should of made an XZ Compact instead!
