Nokia N76 review: Elegant and smart

12 July 2007
Not so long ago phones with open OS, the so called smartphones, were significantly bigger than standard feature phones. And it was just size that would often deter users from purchasing a smartphone. Nowadays, however, smartphones are slowly assuming the dimensions of standard phones. The new Nokia N76 - the first slim clamshell based on Symbian S60 is a brilliant example of this trend.

If not for the S60 system and the range of JSRs supported (for J2ME app deployment test), i will definitely not buy it. It is one of the lowest quality finishing phone i have ever owned. After only two month the chrome on the cover and around the keypad starts to come off. The fold (cover) will not close evenly anymore. The memory card slot cover, after a few times opening and closing, will not close properly too. Try put it together with some keys in your backpack and go jogging, you will find after there's many nice scratches on the chrome body. I will not recommend it to anyone.

a very poor copy of Motorola. ha might as well buy a dummy of motorazr than this thing. the camera as they say is poor (below average is another way to say poor). thats it nokia ? should'v put in a lot more effort to sideline Motorola but you simply can't.

Its an amazing phone with sleak body , good keypad , amazing music quality.Everything can beaccessed from the outer screen except for calling you got to open the flip.
Camera is good provided you are good at taking snaps i.e is you should what to use when, there are many options avaliable which you can choose from....video quality is also very good.

You know what what's the only good about this phone? It's keypad! It reminds of the good old days when Motorola's groundbreaking (in terms of design) RZR had come out... it's a perfect copy! Way to go Nokia! Veeeeery fresh in ideas, huh?...

as expected, the best designed nokia S60 phone still cannot match the RAZR in terms of exceptional design experience. the worst thing was that nokia even "unofficially" acknowledged that the less functional V3 RAZR was even a serious competitor for this one. imho a bad move on design department. though i was impressed with the system performance :)

                          you're right...
N76,just the Nokia version of Motorola RAZR...

                          ...for market share purposes only
