I was thinking about whether to buy this phone or the Redmi Note 3 Pro. I went for the latter for two reasons: I couldn't see the extra value for money I would get out of paying more for the Redmi Pro and, secondly, I don't trust Mediatek processors to do as good a job of preserving battery life as SD SOC's. I went for the Note 3 Pro primarily because it has SD 650.

The best you can hope for is support for band 4 and band 2 which are used in a lot more countries compared to band 12.

I heard that Redmi Pro does support fast charging, but you need to fork out a good money for the right charger.
The rest of the cons are still same.

AnonD-428442, 20 Sep 2016Why do you want inferior call quality over 2G vs better cal... moreIn my country, which is VERY big (Brazil) 3G does not cover everywhere, even tho it's 2016, there's remote and unpopulated areas or small country cities where only 2G networks are available, 4G made its debut in 2014 and as of now is available only at metropolitan areas.
There's 5565 cities and 200 million people to cover, it takes years to cover all the territory, you can say the same thing about India, for example, you really can't compare with "small" (population) countries like Australia or Singapore, if they're ditching the 2G networks, who cares, they're somewhat irrelevant in this matter.
4G here works in high frequency, band 7 (2600Mhz) only, its coverage range is not so good, requiring more cell towers, the carriers are waiting for the government to shutdown the analog TV for good, the analog TV works on the 700Mhz range...

Another review with the battery section incomplete. Request GSMA to post a review after completing it, there is no deadline here. Meanwhile the battery section in Sony X compact review is not out yet

It must be the bad optimization of the app itself or poor kernel made by xiaomi. I guess the games that u played is using the slowest core. Happens on my meizu mx4 while gaming where only 4 cortex a7 is fully used but the other 4 cortex a17 is totally offline. With slight modification on the kernel,forcing all the cortex a17 to stay awake I was able to run gta san andreas and warhammer 40k freeblade on max setting without a single lag. And that is a 1080p device from 2014. Helio x20 should be even better.
