GSMArena smartphone buyer's guide: 2016 Holiday edition

We've had an exciting year in the smartphone world and for those that haven't upgraded in a while, it's time to answer the question - what should you put in the letter to Santa? Sure, it might be a bit early for the holiday shopping, but we don't expect any new major phones launching to market this year so this buyer's guide will probably be the last one for 2016.

The iPhone SE has ion glass screen protection. It is also in your original review, but for some reason not in the scpecs sheet. Apple has been using hardened glass for screen protection since day 1, would be funny to see a 2016 model without it.

    galaxy s7 far better screen than iphone 7 ,camera is also better ,write that down

      Ok first of all iphone is crap, i know this because i have both the iphone 7 plus and an s7 edge. Secondly, Apples chipset is not faster than a exynos 8890. I have done speed tests on both devices and the s7's chipset is much faster. Apple is trying dont get me wrong but they are not at that level yet. I would saying another year and lets see if apple can come up with something good.

                So where is the Xperia x Compact? with 450$ price tag on amazon and more ram than z5c and less heat than that it's far a better choice!

                          Was surprised to find the Xperia XA in the list...

                          Only let down was the battery...

                            Htc 10 and Google Pixel have the same IP certification. Just so you guys are aware of that, it isn't an advantage for G.Pixel.

                              Different countries have different LTE, however in the Europe without B20 / LTE800 the phone is mostly worthless. Xiaomi doesn't, except for few hard to get Taiwanese models.

                                If last year phones like galaxy s6 is still considered, might as well add note 5 for the only available stylus phone, and iphone 6s and 6s plus, which are faster than most android 2016 phones..

                                        I'm so glad that sony is back in the game. Owned a Z2a for 2 years. Really solid phones. It doesn't matter if everybody is complaining about the XZ only having 3gb of ram, it still flies past the competition.
