Asus Zenfone 3 ZE552KL review: More than meets the eye

16 November 2016
The Asus Zenfone 3 is the destination of the company’s "pursuit of superior function" combined with love for design and craftsmanship. Lofty goals for sure, but this isn’t your typical flagship or mid-range phone.

Anonymous, 17 Nov 2016G5 is better. For the last 2 weeks I have been thinking that with its solid technical features (apart from not attractive battery life), LG G5 is much better than these most recent phones (and also cheaper). I only think about 5.3" screen size (getting used to 5.5" is bad; even a tad smaller becomes very small)

Does it really support fast charging?? Im using a zenfone 3 ze552kl and i dont think it supports, not with the in-house charger, perhaps other fast charger can?

High maintenance phone as it shows up everything. Don't mind cleaning phones, but if it is a bit excessive as you hinted at, that's a bit of a turn off.

I just got the phone, recently. Didn't get too much time to play with it yet, but I do find that the battery life seems to be quite decent, probably good too. Maybe need to load in few more apps that would constantly run in the background as the previous phone to get the actual battery performance. But the phone does feel light in the hand compared to others, and this is probably due to the smaller battery.

Expensive? Still way a lot cheaper than Moto Z Play in Malaysia.

Not so sure why non-removable battery is still listed with phone features, it's like 90-95% of all the new phones have a sealed in battery, which totally sux. If it doesn't or the battery is large, the phone usually don't have LTE band 20 or something deal breaking like that. :-/

Thanks for the review gsmarena, do hope that you reveal the complete batery life.

I have the 5,2 variant. Ok I'm aware that numbers of performance aren't the most stellar, but who cares? People like me value this kind of phones, beautifully designed, that work great altogether.
It's a desirable phone and it should be looked like that, if you want performance and more value for money go for the one plus, you want the well proved and rather shabby on looks you always have the Moto g4.

Whith this I can assure you for normal day experience, it works great, it's a much more efficient processor than the speedy 650 Qualcomm you mention, it doesn't heat up, the batery life is great, and you do have a superb screen and good camera. Don't know if it's the best outhere but if I want better I have my reflex.

So in the nd it resumes to the perfect choice for those who like the looks, reliable performance and solid support of a well known brand.

In this price range only the Huawei nova can match, these type of premium mid rangers phones.
