MWC 2017: BlackBerry KEYone hands-on

25 February 2017
TCL is finally done with its first true BlackBerry handset and we have to say, it looks even better than when we first saw it as the Mercury. Petnamed DTEK70 and Mercury in the past, the device is now called KEYone and we finally have the full specs sheet to go with that face.

Anonymous, 26 Feb 2017Runs Android, offers less security than an old BBOS device,... moreRuns Android & it's certainly less secure than forgotten & not used old Blackberry OS from a simple reason that no one will actually try to develop attacks on something that is under 1% of usage. Have a more publicly discovered, discussed & patched security holes in the public available (most of) code with very much eyes on it than undiscovered nor discussed property closed source ones. Guess you think what you don't see or know can't hurt you, well guess what you are wrong. CAF is among safest platforms that are widely used & CVE's are fast provided & easy to integrate. Combination of that & a good team behind the device maintenance (which Blackberry certainly is) equals security.

The only thing ridiculous about this phone is it's price. This should go for $400 max.

Runs Android, offers less security than an old BBOS device, and has more security holes than iOS & Windows combined. So it's not a true BlackBerry.

But might be ok for the unknowing, uncaring, average Joe.

finally. it took them quite a while to make one but specs are decent. quite pricey but this will find it is way from business people who sends email through their phones. some girls might consider it who loves to chat as the physical buttons is invaluable for typing without looking at the screen.

Its expensive for the hardware given, tho the camera is similar with pixel but still somehow I think its better if its at most USD400. However i'm kinda like this phone, I miss the keyboard where it gives the ease of access. Well lets just hope this phone come in my country.

Why don't you put phone on table and operate with 1 hand?
This phone is larger than s7. Why are you so sure you can use with 1 hand? If you can use this phone with 1 hand, most 5"-5.2" android phones and iphone can operate with 1 hand.
Lastly, sale numbers will tell whether it is a good or fail product.

Time is money, so business users need fastest possible processor for more productivity. Faster processor means future proof. With this slow processor, the phone will lag like hell after a year of usage. Also, there are many android phones out there that beat this phone in battery life.
