LG G6 review: Cutting corners... Like a pro

16 March 2017
Cutting corners - it's the story of the LG G6's life. Literally - the smartphone's display doesn't end in right angles, it's soft arcs instead. Figuratively - the G6 isn't packing the absolute greatest hardware on the market.

The cell phone is still worth it, its processor acceptable, camera But the average battery only goes up to Android 9-10

Make your preinstalled apps (especially the apps that cannot be uninstalled) come in English. This will allow for more visibility and acceptability in the market.

Apostle Agyemang , 20 Feb 2020Lg g6 is best phone in de world.but it heat too much n some... moreBest in the world? Well I don't about that, people in the industry seem to consider the Android-powered $$$Blackberry$$$ of late to be best in the world but since no one can afford it I haven't had the chance to sample one.

That said the LG G6 has a lot going for it, and not just in the aesthetics department. G5 was ugly and now looks antiquated but the G6 is still classy thanks to LG's early decision to make it taller and narrower, a design feature that was also adopted by Samsung for its S series and for 2-3 years LG and Samsung were the only manufacturers to sport it, while the others favored a more iPhone-like styling... but unfortunately could not use Apple-inspired hardware inside since it's all patented and proprietary to Apple and God knows Apple is one litigious company.

The other Androids (Sony, Motorola, HTC etc.) compensated with jumbo displays thinking most people would prefer those to smaller overpriced iPhones. They were wrong, most people don't want to tote a TV in their pocket. It is in human nature to follow fashion over common sense and iPhones are very fashionable, if not very affordable. Once people had figured that spending $1000 and even $2000 on a phone was, well, ill-advised they turned to upper-tier Androids, those Samsung S series or LG G series with their long tall Sally allure stood out (starting with the S7 and the G6) and had a reasonably sized display

Nowadays that look is ubiquitous and fashionable and the G6 doesn't look outdated at all despite its venerable age of 3. I like my titanium colored G6 mainly for its crystal-clear display and overall smart looks but I also like my iPhone 6S which is smaller but sports one of the best looking display in the industry (odd, considering the iPhone 7 has a lesser screen, as does the iPhone 8), The 6S is lauded for its legendary audio performance but quite frankly I prefer to listen to my desktop audio setup, to me all phones sound bad, tinny an squeaky. But you can mod the 6S to use its DAC in lieu of a costly dedicated DAC, in bridge mode between your computer and your amplifier. That's possible because you can turn off all DSP on the phone while keeping the DAC up, and do your DSP on your computer instead. For that you need third-party drivers though. Unfortunately I haven't found a way to do that with the G6. No drivers in sight and the USB charger port does not support full duplex, whereas the lightning does... provided one is inclined to tweak stuff.

I had the g6 over 5 months, the battery life mediocre, the coverture erratic and the audio quality below average, the cameras were completely a disappointment... I'm sorry to say this phone sucks. I Switched to Huawey and now im so happy!
