I have the US997 model (from US Cellular). These specs say that I shouldn't have FM radio, yet I do.

Need reason, 15 Aug 2018Why is it worthless? Could give more reason? Otherwise you ... moreOld chip used with low quality cameras, lags even with branded app, never seen positive response from LG either on Software or it's service. Such a high prize does not make any sense for the HOPLESS user interface, old chip set.

You can also add that LG has cut corners in their glass. I set my lg g6 face down on a counter and literally watched and heard the rear camera glass crack. No dropping or puncturing involved. I would be up for taking accountability if I did something to deserve the cracked camera lens, but I believe it was just weak glass. Regardless, LG doesn't cover physical damages. How nice for them.

My LG G6 Just got updated to Oreo (Canada). It's just awesome now and the battery is very well optimized and lasts better. The camera is way faster and I see no more lagging in UI and Bluetooth. I was considering upgrading to G7 but I'll keep this one for one more year.

Better than S8, if only because of the location of the fingerprint sensor. On the S8 it's useless because its off to the side next to the camera. And now the g6 much cheaper than the S8

Number of megapixels is not the measure of a camera quality. MP comes into consideration for printing in large sizes. For a selfie 5 MP is more than enough provided the lens is a quality one.

I DO NOT UNDERSTAND why no one is talking about how trash the LG emojis are and what the workaround this is... I liked my last LG phone but the emojis wouldn't update to what social media and text messages from other people were sending out.

Radu, 06 Nov 2017Would have been great to mention the missing notification L... moreHoly crap, that is a deal breaker. Moto phones also don't have notification lights.

AnonD-720833, 06 Dec 2017Good point! The notification LED is a must have for me and ... moreIn the early days of smartphones (i.e. before the social media craze) a notification LED was important but since, these days, most people hardly leave their phones long enough to miss a notification and, if they do, they check their phones every few minutes, it's become redundant imo. It used to be a prerequisite for me as well but I no longer care if a phone has it.

In the review you mentioned the phone "will also survive dips in sea water", but you can't find it written in the specs. If this phone is really "MIL-STD-810G" compliant, then one of the tests it should go through is "test method 509.5 Salt Fog", which can be similar to the sea water conditions. The question is, whether the phone was really laboratory tested for these conditions or was it just made to meet the specifiactions? As a big fan of rugged phones I would like to know that and see some real-life testing in some form in this review. I know you don't want to break things, but if this phone is made for harsh conditions, go and test it because that's why people like me buy these things. After breaking my first smartphone many years ago, HTC One V LTE, that felt from a 1m on display which shattered in thousand pieces, I said no, I will never buy a regular smartphone that needs attention like a small baby. Snow, sand, storms, water, mud, crash, I want my phone to withstand all of that and that's why I'm fond of rugged phones with military standard specs.

Radu, 06 Nov 2017Would have been great to mention the missing notification L... moreGood point! The notification LED is a must have for me and one of the most useful features a smartphone can have. For some it maybe is oldfashioned these days, but a simple blink-blink and one look on your phone and you know whether is worth your attention at the moment. With no LED notification is this phone useless for me, although I really considered buying it in the future because of the wateproofness and MIL-ST-810 specs. You saved me quite a lot of money, thanks.
