Samsung Galaxy A7 (2017) review: Marathoner with a punch

22 March 2017
A Samsung for every taste - that seems to be the main mantra of the Korean giant as of late, as evident by its sprawling and ever-expanding smartphone lineup. We guess it's always good to have more options, but we just can't shake the feeling that some of Samsung's recent creations are beginning to overlap and thread in each other's territory – at least from the global perspective we have.

Sd card is useless in a samsung device. If you think that you need it, avoid samsung. Since android 6, google limits access on Sd card. You need to format it as internal storage to have full access. But guess what? Samsung does not allow internal storage.

No CDMA or Band 12 support limits this phone considerably. Otherwise it is a homerun.

Even with 4000 mah battery, it can't come even close to A7 2017 endurance rating. Not to mention MediaTek Helio x20 is notorius for overheating and Redmi Note 4 build quality is worse than A7 2017.

It is definitely an overrated phone version over previous generation. 3 of 4 of those shortcomings are more than enough for me to buy this so-called 2017 A7.

It is more like a one step ahead three steps backward for Samsung. I hope S8 will not giving the same chill. based on leaks and rumours, S7/Edge might be a better phone than its successor albeit lack of new standard key features such like USB Type C.

Thanks to gsmarena for this review. It saves my money.

The A series is for business people with the company paying for the phone, right? Whereas the J series is the A series but with corners cut in particular extras like water proofing for the ordinary Joe paying for the phone himself. Waiting for the review of the J7 (2017).

All flagships should use full hd for better battery life.

500$ for a Marshmallow smartphone with Cortex A53 cores in 2017. That is just ridiculous. If you are gonna milk the market with a smartphone that costs 500$ have at least two A72 or A73 big cores in it.
