My opinion , those that buy this phote for sure will always wiping the camera lense ... Thats funny for a phone that always being rated for no 1 in camera department . Try to imagine , everytime you try to tske phote , you have to wipe the lense to make sure it is clean from fingerprint

- S8 standard is way too big. Should have been 2 cm shorter.
- Old generation f/1.7 optics. Should go with f/1.4-f/1.6.
- No 2160p60 recording.
- I guess still no VoLTE support.
- I guess still no Mifare Classic compliance with Exynos version.
- Still poor viewing angles (significant color shift at little angles)
- Desktop mode requires special dock...

Even your giant hand isn't enough to use it one-hand... They should have been make S8 standard 4,8'' maintaining those little bezels, so it would be less than 130mm tall.

I was always sceptical about that rumour.
But have you actually seen the Sony demos?
Do you now how it is handled?
It has to be activated, and has such a limited recording time that it is for the most part useless even on a well planned event even when a count-down is performed to try to time the action.
Even if one would have been happy with the length of the ultra slow motion sequence, the fact that it's all it can do, one can not record the full event and then edit the video so a certain part is in ultra slow motion. The activation has to be precisely timed while recording.
I was well impressed untill I undestood the limitations.
Sony would have still been "first" even is Samsung would have been able to do one slightly better, by having a bit of higer fram rate, but as long as it would have been as limited in terms of recording time as the Sony solution, it would have still been a pointless feature.
The difference between 960fps and 1000fps would have made no difference in terms of usefullness, at this stage it is still the limited recording time that is the issue. So it would have not been more usefull if Samsung managed to get 40 fps more out of their device.
Ultra slow motion recording is cool, but the limitations in the upcoming Sonys are just too much.
When it has matured enough I'm all for it, no matter who is first to release a phone with a mature version of the tech.
There are things to look for when deciding on what phone to get. But the 960fps mode on the upcoming Sonys I think is something that should be ignored, as it is pretty useless the way it's implemented.
The 4K HDR screen of the XZ Premium, could be really interesting, especially if they make a VR headset for it. The samsung only has QHD resolution for 16:9 material, and unless they changed the Sub pixel arrangement, the actual resolution is even lower, and from seeing VR with Samsung OLED QHD displays before, I can say the resolution is quite a limitation.

They are going to ask lots of your money for it and then you will be spending more money to buy a protective case for it and they have introduce a battery bank as well because they know that it will not last for a day and you need to buy that one too to keep it working,
In English.. They are cheating with people..
Flagships are suppose to be rugged, durable, not fragile. and will not die when you need them.

Though the bezels are small, there is no stereo setup, no front facing speaker (shortcomings of dis design) and usual Samsung flaws ( glass body, fragile looking and thus feminine for my taste,)

I'm not sure about the Dex station.
I get that it enables the user to do photo editing.
But for pretty much everything else, it feels like they could have done a stand alone product, with some kind of side-sync and cast technology, to gain acess to the phone and perhaps it's internet connection, but the ability to do what chromecast does and take over a stream initiated on a phone.
A DeX powered Laptop/Hybrid tablet device would have been a different matter, however.
If that device could be made thinner an lighter, and/ or with much better batterylife due to the fact that the CPU, Memory and Storage would all be inside a phone, that would be interesting. Especially if they managed to make if without a fan, but the Dex station even has one.
As a basic desktop that still needs a physical connection to the phone to work, I don't really get the concept. There are already cheap small computers that does most of what the DeX does, that work stand-alone. With the phone integration missing, but then samsung should have worked on their windows software to actually work for that instead, as that would be much more usefull to a broader audience.
Sure, the S8 has a lot more power than any cheap small computer, but for most of the taks the DeX station would be used, such a computer would have enough power. And one would not have to have the phone with, to be able to use it.
I think they should have made it in to a hybrid. A self contained computer, for the basic stuff, but with the ability to instead run of the S8 when more power was needed, with auto-sync to Samsung phones over network. That way it could be used even by users with less powerfull samsung phones, as a basic computer, and still have files and browser history and so on synced.

If memory serves me correctly I believe the very first One Plus was the first to offer customisable navigation.
All in all the S8 sounds impressive but based on all the hype I expected way more. I was probably more impressed with Bixby than anything else. I'm sure it will be a good smartphone nevertheless like every other Galaxy S but it would nice to see innovation like the S3 compared to the S2, the S4 compared to the S3 and the S4 compared to the S5 (world's first heart rate sensor in a smart phone was the biggest revolution in the S5) Those were revolutionary compared to their predecessors.
It would have been nice to see a solar panel in the S8. While you are in sunlight or in direct artificial light it would automatically charge. Regular and scientific calculators have that dual power system from eons ago. With cellular usage at it's highest these days and batteries barely being able to keep up with the average usage patterns it's time to go solar.

The lack of a second back camera.
LG is brought up several of times. I do love Ultra Wide Angle pohotgraphy. But the lack of Auto-focus on the LG makes it a lot less usefull as a photographic tool.
The Huawei/Leica set-up with a Monochrome sensor is cool, but a bit limited to artsy styled photos rather than bringing advantages to imaging.
Some phones uses a "tele"-lens on the other camera. But I haven't read any review of those set-ups. If the cameras are equal, and the lens quality is good enough, that is interesting. In general I prefer ultra wide angle, but with the lack of captured resolutions in mobiles, a "tele"-lens can help in capturing details that the eyes can see, but that the normal lens on the mobile would miss. But if the performance is sub-par, I'm not that interested in it. So it all depends. On the LG I know the second camera is sub par, even if it has gotten a lot better since the G5.
Ideally, I would like to see a 3 lens set-up, from ultra-wide angle, to normal wide-angle, to portrait/macro. All with Auto-focus and OIS, good dynamics and good ISO performance.
