Tann Hauser, 20 Apr 2017Guess you obviously live in Inner Earth, as you only care ... moreMost high end phones take good pics in good light now days. To me the real test is what happens in low light and the S8 wins hands down from what i have seen. Sure there are plenty of other factors that come into play.
That said, I'd love nothing more than Nokia, Sony, LG or apple to bring out a camera that blows everyone else away. The best way to get better phones is through competition.
Money wasn't an issue, I just wanted a phone with a great camera. S7 is too small and im not a fan of sony, lg, iphones etc for various reasons.

ithehappy, 20 Apr 2017Go check DPReview's conclusion and other websites' reviews ... moreNo doubt: the cameras on LG phones are WAY better than the ones on the S7. Sammy fanboys are just not open-minded to admit it. Personally, I use a Huawei and still have to admit that the LG G6 camera is the best smartphone camera available right now.

NewNicknameAgain, 20 Apr 2017Sony cameras are the most used cameras by YouTubers
Sony T... moreGo check DPReview's conclusion and other websites' reviews for Sony's best and Samsung's best phones. LOL. S7 blew the XZ out of the water. Nothing new here anyway, no Sony phone ever matched any Samsung phone for image quality. People here were talking about S8's camera, and somehow Youtube reviewers using Sony phones, their mirrorless camera segment are brought into discussion, now talk about sheer stupidity! This is how you try to make up when your phone has a piss poor camera ROFL.
Actual loser is you and that other Sony fanboy who keeps visiting Samsung S8 section for God knows what reason. Go live with your inferior phones, nobody really gave a damn about Sony phones, so you are actually wasting your time.

lacp, 19 Apr 2017There are people who think that Sony still continues to bea... moreSony cameras are the most used cameras by YouTubers
Sony TVs are second to LG TVs to the most selling TVs worldwide, Samsung is not even close
Sony's audio system has always been competitive against Beats, Senheisser, Bose, etc.
Sony mirrorless cameras are the best of this class, and the newly announced a9 will blow the competition again
Even this new XZ Premium is garnering more attention than Sony used to be in the past
To prove everything you have said, I have owned a $20 Sony earphones and sound was great - maybe not the best but I'm not really expecting world class quality.
It handled about hundreds of abuse before the cable finally gave up, but only one cable was broken, and the other one was still flawless, and the whole headset is still in perfect look as I have bought it - it lasted for 5 months.
My uncle gave me his Samsung earphones and I was excited because it's from Samsung. Guess what, not even a whole month yet and the control button of the earphone already broke just by pressing it - issue that never happened on my Sony earphones.
Your claim of Samsung's better quality than Sony is false. My friend owns an S5 and his charging port cover is already wrecked without even dumping the phone into water. Another friend of mine with a Sony phone (don't know the model) is still in perfect condition with minor dents and scratches for 2 years of usage

Thanks GSMArena. Your review has finally convinced me to buy the Galaxy S8+ instead of the regular Galaxy S8.
When I went to the store, I find the Galaxy S8 is too small for me. Yes. A 5.8" display phone is small for me. I was using the iPhone 6 Plus for years now and its seems fitting for me to upgrade to the Galaxy S8+. Infact, the Galaxy S8+ have the exact same size as my iPhone 6 Plus!
For me, the Galaxy S8+ is the best phone in the market and the best alternative for an iPhone user like me, hands down. Can't wait to use it!

It shows the l... moreGuess you obviously live in Inner Earth, as you only care for lowlight performance.
Fact is, and this is automode only we are speaking of, 23mpx cameras are better at good light, and 12 mpx ones are better at lowlight.
But then again, when speaking of manual, 23 mpx ones achieve much better results than 12 mpx ones, in both scenarios.
All in all, if having the same camera along with lots of same other feats, and just a plus of bigger screen with weird aspect ratio is your idea of 100€ more worth of trade than last year, go for it.
Dont mind us discussing here....

lacp, 19 Apr 2017There are people who think that Sony still continues to bea... moreI can agree with them in Camera department. They have the best tech possible in Cameras. Their camera sensors found a place in many smartphones and even in some of Nikon's DSLRs. Their audio equipment also very good, though they have been bettered by other Audio equipment companies(Sennheiser, Audio Technica, etc.,.).

Sindroid, 19 Apr 2017You misunderstand. Have you physically been in a store hold... moreS8+ is the superior model because the keyboard is also wider in portrait mode. The S8 feels cramped like typing on an iPhone 7 since it shares close to the same width as it. If people have been disappointed by the S8+ battery life, the S8 will likely disapppoint even more.

I wish they made the devices less tall and kept the 16:9 ratio, even if it meant making the screen and device a little smaller.
I also wish they improved on the camera. I dont want dual cameras, it's a seasonal thing that brings nothing to the table and will look silly in a year. I want better image quality from the single, better camera - A better, bigger sensor would be perfect. Lack of camera upgrade is my biggest disappointment in this phone, next to not many upgrades compared to S7 in general and hiked up price. Im still internally debating between this and the S7 Edge. I was set on getting this, as Im on the S6 but it doesnt seem like I'd be getting much of an upgrade here too.

In 2018, S7... moreI think with the reduced amount of changes and upgrades the Android releases bring, it isn't as necessary or exciting to get the latest. I'm on 7.0, and I might have been on 5.0 without missing a thing that came ever since then.

karim salah, 19 Apr 2017skipping samsung this year again for its silly decisions fi... moreYou misunderstand. Have you physically been in a store holding and inspecting one first hand?
I at first was just going for the S8 because i thought the S8+ would be too big, But then i went to the store, and i compared the S8+ size to my Huawei P9+. And its pretty much the same size. The S8+ is actually NARROWER but a bit TALLER than my P9+. So i went for S8+ instead after seeing the how minor the difference was.
So please, to everyone trying to bash off the screen size being too large. The screen to Body ratio on these are insane. You have to take that into consideration. These phones are not REALLY that big as you might think they are. I was surprised that they were so "small" when i checked them out.
Take a trip to your dealer and see for yourself.

AnonD-523334, 19 Apr 2017Phone aside and I'm neither bashing nor praising it for now... moreI disagree. There is nothing wrong with their current review process, it's critical enough as it is. You want a flagship to get a special review, next year it's not a flagship anymore. And who is to say exactly what the definition of a flagship is? What if gsma decides to give a specific phone a normal review, but in your mind it's a flagship based on some random specs? All phones should be reviewed the same way, for consistency and simplicity.

Phone aside and I'm neither bashing nor praising it for now, but reviewer is getting really enthusiastic and a normal person can easily feel it. The gsmarena reviews aren't as neutral, non enthusiastic as they used to be.
Second thing which I already said some days ago and I had got support from other readers in replies and upvotes, that I think gsmarena should now review phones (and specially flagship phones) more critically. Because, as "The Verge" stated, "it is more difficult to make a bad phone than a good phone these days" even $100 redmi 4a is good enough, and an upper midrange phone is always many times more than enough. So flagships which are multiple times pricier should be analyzed critically... From spec comparison with current crop, it's predesser, quality of features.

AlienNextDoor, 18 Apr 2017Worse design than S7. Curved screen is an annoying gimmick.... moreNope, you'll buy next year or in 2019, at tops. In 2018, S7 family will receive Android O and then only security upgrades, so you'd have to upgrade if u want newer and better android builds.
