BlackBerry KEYone review: Make or break

29 May 2017
The BlackBerry was an iconic name in the Smartphone world in the Americas during the late-2000s. In 2010, we recall our peers having colorful discussions on social media about whether they should go with a BlackBerry or iPhone. During this time, BlackBerry was still a huge contender in the United States; every carrier had at least two BlackBerry models and Android was more of an afterthought. Now tables have turned.

AnonD-373654, 30 May 2017most of the results are either average or lower range.. but... moreits not supposed to sell to the average consumer. its supposed to sell to business's in bluk. so they price it for business to write off expenses.

Anonymous, 30 May 2017Just amazing that CEO Chen insists on continuing to push ph... morehey listen, i dont like blackberry like the next guy. but the stock is up. I put myself in his shoes. I tried all glass phones and failed 10x over. so go back to your roots and make a nice niche for yourself.
your not gonna be close to samsung or apple but you will survive with nice profits.

Hes smart and a reason the ceo makes so much money. john chen saved bb from dieing years ago and is the only reason they exist todya.

Just did a quick search for Moto z play. That thing have a 100hr endurance. How does keyone only ahve 81?! if its around 90hr its a instant buy for me. Keyboard consume a lot of power is my only guess. I have used touchscreen for years and still cant get use to typing on it. Physical keyboard is really good for me.

Nice phone and nice review, Ricky.
The KEYone is a pretty well-rounded and balanced phone and IMO better than the inconsistent Priv.

Please stop mentioning letterboxing as a disadvantage. Films are shot in non-standard aspect ratios anyway, so regardless of your screen, you'll always run into either letterboxing and barn doors.

The SD 625 is outperformed by the SD 808 in every CPU and GPU benchmark with the exception of the on screen tests due to the much higher QHD in the Priv.

Lets face it, the Snapdragon 625 is an adequate performer at best.

The low light samples are much better than what we saw from that nonsense of a phone called Sony Xperia Premium or whatever. I'm just disappointed at the loudspeaker loudness though :( Blackberries on olden days were pretty loud!

I think price needs correction as at 550 $ you can get really really great phones as compared to key 1. At least 100 $ correction is required to convert this hype in sales. I am sure after launch within 3 months pricing will fall below 450 $ like other struggling brands

Love that BB still making phones for Qwerty lovers. but if they want to sell more phones, why not make a regular touch flagship ALSO like others? all phones are almost same anyway. Just throw in a 4GB or 6GB ram, sd835, a 12MP sensor like this, or dual, front facing speaker +downward woofer and a 3000+mah battery, 5.2" 1080p 0r 2k. Like Huawei or MI or Sony? Oh, waterproofing too. all phones have same specs. I believe ppl will buy a BB rather than a Huawei for 600.

It is Android, not Blackberry. Last Blackberry run OS10.. KeyONE is not so secure and privacy oriented as Blackberry used to be. Please return to blackberry original OS which put emphasis on privacy and security.
