Nokia 3 review: Un-Finnished Business

A Nokia for the masses! And not the 3310. Risen from the ashes, the legendary Finnish brand makes a fresh start. "Connecting people" the Android way. It's a nice sentiment for sure, but one that’s mostly fueled by collective nostalgia over the Nokia golden age, back in the 90s.

Hi,
I have brought a Nokia 3 a week ago. Im an Android user since last 5 years. Feel this product has missed some features on it. Refer the below list which i had experienced .
01. Heavily heating wen browsing. Never felt like that in previous Android devices .
02. Prediction is only working at messaging App only. Emailing and other writing things not automated help from it.
03.Cannot add subject on SMS,MMS . ,No any option to add.
04.Cannot send MMS,SMS to short codes less than 5 characters.
05.Contacts cannot share directly from phone book to another phone as a text message , its automatically converted to MMS.
06.Speed dialing option is not available.
07. App notifications on it , is not showing ( ex:- If Facebook app have notifications its shows the notification amount in red color circle. But Nokia don't have it.

    And do you live under a stone? The iPhone 6 bending was a defect in design. It was fixed on the 6s and now the 7 which also happens to be a very durable phone according to Zack from JerryRigEverything (the same guy who declared the Nokia 6 to be the most durable phones in a while, and is a huge Nokia fan - only saying this so that you don't call him some biased reviewer).

          P, 02 Jul 2017I want to buy Nokia 3 but I confused plz suggest buy or not....I dont know your situation so its hard to judge. But if you want most bang for your money than nope. Here I would recomend affordmentioned Oukitel or Xiaomi etc. according to if you can get one or other easily/service/you tell... If you just want a phone thats more less good built and will make phone calls, web browsing and perhaps might add some kind of camera well, than go for it.
          My personal winner of smartphones under 200 bucks is Oukitel K6000 Plus

If I see one, I want it. :-) I even remember when phones had to have a camera lens cover, like my old Sony Ericsson K800, or Nokia N97 etc. Nowadays phones are thinner and sensors smaller but you can't break the laws of physics and cheat. Looks like Galaxy Note 8 will have a small camera bump, let's wait and see what's under it.

I was buying a second-hand flagship w... morefunny how we seem to have lowered our expectation towards smartphone camera performance. one of these days i will build a program line into my brain with an algorythm that simple ignores any new phone or review with sensor size 1/2.3 or smaller or one that has NOT android.
                what a peace that'll make. panasonic cm1 the only anamoly , with its 1 inch sensor.

                looking forward to 1/1.7 sensor phone cams with supurb glass. its about time

I was buying a second-hand flagship with my budget and just wanted something that has a camera "not much worse than N8" so I'm fine with my S5, got what I expected in great condition for a great price. Other options were LG G3 and some Xperia but there weren't many G3s and I had bad experience with Sony, and it seems that brands that use Sony sensors take better photos than Sony with their own sensors. Maybe I'll get a G5 some day. I like the G5 camera results and removable battery and it looks good in a case. G6 seems to have a little bit worse camera.

I made a 'mistake' by owning a Nokia N8 that brought mobile camera quality to a level that is still not matched today daylight picture wise, i wish i never owned it . Got me a sony Z3c and thats not a popo blaster but a direct headshot for mobile camera lovers .. Sold it after 3 months of photo misery (super phone on all other areas)

                      Some time hange problem and
                      Network problem
                      Camera result is good
                      But very slow this mobile

My Galaxy also takes photos almost as good as my old N8 - if I resize Samsung's pics to 5-8 megapixels so that I don't see too much of Samsung's processing. But I'm fine with it. At least the Samsung is faster and has HDR, better macro and panorama. Missing the Xenon flash, though, but my N8 is still working if I ever need it again.
                          On another note, Steve Litchfield just released a YouTube review of the HTC U11 and said the camera is almost as good as the Lumia 950 XL. Too bad about the rest of the phone.

As i mentioned earlier, my GF has s7 or s8, never bothered to ask as i don't like Android, but we have compared photos. They are highly comparable and 950/950XL processing is way more mature. No artifacts you can see in galaxy snaps because of their highly aggressive noise suppression and sharpening. Detail, same or even more. Of course, you CAN'T compare those Lumia cameras to 808 Pureview, but nowadays Galaxies, etc are well in reach.

                              My LG G5 resolves almost as good and no way near as clean as my SEVEN your old Nokia N8!

Old Lumia cameras was one of the best out there, in the true photogenic sense. Nothing could come even close to them Carl Zeiss lens or whatever, per pixel and tonal quality of the photos were incredible. In fact even today a Pure View and Lumia 1020 will take better shots at day time than Samsung or whatever. Samsung simply created cameras to attract customers, boosted up saturation, colours and stuffs, so that people will think WOW, these look good, same reason why TV companies keep their sets at highest possible contrast, colour and brightness on showrooms to attract customers.

                                You probably were not born when Nokia ruled, but that's OK. But when I read S8 has an outstanding camera I chuckle for like 10 seconds.

I haven't heard any of the mainstream reviewers compare other phone's camera with theirs. The guy i replied to claimed that Lumia's camera is way better than S8's and that's just outrageous as S8 has one of the best camera currently available in the market.

                                        And like I mentioned before I don't like saying this as a Nokia fan but unfortunately J3 2017 is much better than Nokia 3

                                        ---extraordinary battery life due to 14nm expect 90h
                                        --- better cameras with selfie flash
                                        --- faster gpu because of 2 mali cores

                                        Nokia 3 has some positives like "stronger" and better looking design , stock android that will get updated to 8.0 and extra sensors like nfc, compass gyro.. but in front of positives of j3 .. j3 wins unfortunately..i was hoping Nokia 3 selfie 8 mp auto focus camera to beat all the competitors but it was pretty average unfortunately..
