I wish they would use virtual keys, like LG, like Sony, like Samsung, etc. I hate physical touch buttons, especially these one's, looks like some ultra cheap chinese buttons.

Other manufacturers modify and optimises Android to achieve the maximum performance given the platform.. This here is just showing how the stock Android 7.0 is NOT optimised for entry level quad core chipset

P, 02 Jul 2017I want to buy Nokia 3 but I confused plz suggest buy or not....if u want to purchase even after seeing this review only god can save u. Go with snapdragon 430 above chipset smartphone at lease u can do browsing & mail checks. & play lite games.

Again HMD doing same mistakes as original nokia. when people are showing much anxiety towards nokia brand initially u could have released at least snapdragon 430 powered smartphone. Nokia having nice brand image in grass roots & village people. for them u r sending mediatek version & selling phones with shop keeper commissions. may be u can earn some bucks but will lose credibility.

But hey, at least the camera was great, the Nokia camera engineers didn't disappoint. As for tech news, I've been around for more than 10 years (just magazines before that) and this site is a benchmark, but I follow a few tech sites that aren't just about phones. For cameras alone, SmartCamClub is fun - right now on the front page: "Comparing three large sensor shooters: Huawei P10 Plus vs Kodak Ektra vs Lumia 950 XL" so it's still relevant at least for the camera.
YouTube is good for a quick fix, but check out some other sites like Ars Technica, The Verge or DPReview, just to name a few. Of course, if you have the time for that. ;-)
As for DxO, yeah, they do laboratory tests in controlled conditions. But it says nothing about how ready the camera is to deal with surprises and everyday life. I sort of prefer someone taking a bunch of phones somewhere out in the wild and taking photos of the same scene and then posting them all.

While htc 10 was not even close to becoming best, U11 has a excellent camera but still not anything extraordinary. I was impressed by Pixel's processing though.
Like i said earlier, i don't know much about Lumia phones as they are not popular. I'm following tech news for about 3 years now and no one even mentioned them, not even in camera department. I follow gsmarena and youtube for tech news.

In India it is INR 9k. At that price there are much better options available . Unless Nokia comes up with Good products at competitive prices, it can say goodbye to at least Indian market.

However, they have similar pixel size, similar sensor size and both have OIS so tripods don't matter here. And if you look at image processing, Samsung still has some oversharpening artifacts as well as contrast/color boost to make the images more attractive, while Lumia went for the clearest image possible, as was usual when Nokia guys did a flagship (except maybe Lumia 1020). The websites I mentioned use cameras in real life, it's not some DxO type testing, and Steve Litchfield has been testing phone cameras ever since they appeared. For sheer image quality he's impressed by the Lumia even today, while the S7 is still his "3rd best ever" cameraphone (after HTC U11 and Google Pixel - he hasn't tested the S8 yet then) so both are pretty amazing (I personally went from Nokia to Samsung so I'm not against any of them).

If you're comparing two phones by their ability to take the best shot with using tripod then you're doing it wrong. 950/xl definitely has more pixel so it is capable of taking better detailed photo in well lit situation but that's not what should matter the most. S7 has one of the fastest camera and definitely the best low light camera out there. Any flagship grade phone can take excellent photos in daylight so i don't see that much of benefit of 950/xl for having more megapixel count. IMO it would be just like XZ premium.

Windows aside, the camera is still top notch as you can see for yourself on pages that Steve Litchfield (All About Symbian, All About Windows Phone, Android Beat) writes for, as well as on SmartCamClub and everywhere that people still use it as a comparison. Just because a phone is new, doesn't necessarily mean that the camera is better than the old ones. Also, "back in the day" was just 2 years ago. ;-)
