Anonymous, 22 Jul 2017You have to remember this is Nokia first crack at a return.... moreDon't say bullshit, dude...
Xiaomi, OnePlus, ZUK, LeEco & NexBit "first attempt" in Android world was successful. Some of their devices even recognized as "flagship killer" that received GREAT responses from people around the world.
Meanwhile, Samsung "first attempt" on Android phone was quite good, even its Galaxy Young series was one of the best selling Android device at that time.
Sony, at that time still Sony Ericsson, was getting even better response than Samsng for their Android device, because of their "unique" features (Walkman, qwerty keyboard, camera, even PlayStation).
Its Xperia Mini Pro was once one of the best selling phone because it almost has everything (qwerty keyboard, Walkman-based audio, good camera, decent SoC) people want.
On the other hand, Nokia's "first attempt" in Android, Nokia X & X2 series, was TRASH.
They made Android phones with 3rd rate spareparts, meager RAM & VERY low-end SoC then sold it at mid-range price.
Several of my friends had it, and u know what? It could only last SEVERAL MONTHS before its components one by one broke (display, SIM tray, SD slot, USB slot, no signal, etc).
And now, Nokia tried to "start a new leaf" and release "new" Android phones, with the same formula: CHEAP components + CHEAP SoC then priced it as high as mid-range BRANDED phone (Nokia is NO MORE "branded", it is just ANOTHER START-UP now).
I know JerryRig and some other reviewers on YouTube "prove" the "new" Nokia Android phones have solid build quality, BUT the question here is:
"Do u EXPECT people to HOLD their low-performance Android phones for two years or more, while EVERY YEAR a new phone with BETTER SoC & features keep coming, with the same or lower price compared to last year counterpart?"
FYI, Vanilla Android advantages are only in the update "promise", "smoother than custom OS" user experience, and "efficient use of RAM".
U could not even use it to play MKV, WMV, XVID videos out-of-the-box without the help of 3rd party video player!
IF Nokia had released Nokia 6 with SD625 (at least), I could agree with fanboys' opinion that Nokia "made phone for last", but with SD430, mediocre camera, generic IPS display, standard 3000mAh NON-REMOVABLE battery, out-of-date microUSB 2.0 & hybrid SIM slot, I really, really doubt any "sane" person would buy this POS instead of buying a BRANDED device with better features & specs at the same price of Nokia 6 (especially true for Chinese brand devices), or just wait for Nokia 8 to release, as US$250 is DEFINITELY not a CHEAP price!

Sounds promising. I was gonna get the 3 but was unsure about performance as some have said, I'll probably wait for the 5 then next month release in UK.

Anonymous, 22 Jul 2017The Nokia 6 ALSO has that 3GB Ram and 32GB storage just lik... moreThe big deal is that its actually BIG. We dont need that higher resolution with that same processor, bigger display and resolution on the same battery, bigger boxy structure.
The 5 is sleek, curvy and compact. Considering the otherwise similar configuration, the 5 and 6 should have been different form factors, with similar ram/storage options.

Anonymous, 22 Jul 2017the nokia 6 is just that! No, its not just that, its more than that. What we need is a 5 with 3/32 variant. I can put it another way, "I should not be buying Redmi Note 4 just because I want a Redmi 4 with 4 gb ram". But I think Xiaomi has 4gb Redmi 4 variant, thats market experience.

You have to remember this is Nokia first crack at a return.....no company knocks it out of the park on its first attempt... its an iterative process. Samsung, Sony, HTC, Oneplus.....no one has got it right straight away. Normally the second and third generation ones are better.

Anonymous, 22 Jul 2017Just like Samsung, making money because of brand.. Actually if we've took the brands and tried to sell the phones with the same prices I think Nokia will do better than Samsung while Apple will do the worst .

Anonymous, 22 Jul 2017Of course if there's an option to upgrade the Nokia 5 to 3 ... moreThe Nokia 6 ALSO has that 3GB Ram and 32GB storage just like you wanted? So what's the big deal? In addition you get a bigger screen with higher resolution too. And a 16mp camera instead of a 13mp one.
And it's build like a tank which any phone should be due to the fact that you (are supposed to) carry the damn thing everywhere anytime.
BTW, I see that the Nokia 6 has "Dolby Atmos"... scuze me, but isn't that complete bullshit? Dolby Atmos means ceiling mount speakers or at least more channels than the standard 5.1/7.1 systems. I seriously doubt that "Dolby Atmos mobile" does anyting except highlight the high and midtones and create some artificial reverb to ruin the audio.

Could you please state if these phones can do call-recording (like Nokia's used to do)?
In fact could you PLEASE do this always!!!! As call-recording is increasingly important now that many countries prohibit calling while driving. Which also means a ban on writing down stuff while driving!!!
Sure I understand that there is "handsfree"stuff but that doesn't help me any further when , as a plumber or doctor, people call to make an appointment over the phone!
Old phones were able to just do that. But nowadays ALL those stupid phones have removed that important facility and I goddamn hate it! I always spend weeks to find out which models can record calls and which don't whenever I need a new phone. In fact, I reverted back from my all multi-core, big RAM, big screen, big whatever to a second hand Nokia 701 just because of this! This 701 even has this standard build in without tampering or rooting the damn thing!
So PLEASE mention this too. And clearly stated if it PROPERLY record both sides or just one side and at proper volume. Because I've seen e.g. Honor 8 been able to record calls 2-way but the caller is too quiet and my own voice is severely clipped to make this usable (thanks for nothing Huawei!).

Anonymous, 22 Jul 2017Of course if there's an option to upgrade the Nokia 5 to 3 ... moreFor me the main reason I think NOKIA 6 is better is because of the design. It is kind of tanky and feels premium on the back of the phone plus I like matte metal feel on it and not polycarbonate back. Yes I know better resolution results in poorer battery life. But to be honest it is also based on how often the person uses it. My XPERIA XZ with 1080x1920 FHD display and a 2900mah battery can last for more than 1 and a half day even if I play games because I played games for like 30mins a day so yeah

xXENDER FREAKXx, 22 Jul 2017Specs are not everything but what about the price? Only a m... moreOf course if there's an option to upgrade the Nokia 5 to 3 GB RAM and 32 GB memory for an additional 30 euro I will take it, but there is no such option. Nokia 6, for 30 euro extra, has a bigger and higher-res screen with the same battery as Nokia 5, which results in significantly poorer battery life. Still prefer Nokia 5.

Why Nokia 3 introduced first why not Nokia 5. I bought Nokia 3 after waiting so long for Nokia though I can buy Nokia 5 if that was available Nokia is not doing good thing. What kind of marketing strategy thia is. Nokia you first should have introduced Nokia 5 then Nokia 3 only those who prefer only basics with less money.

Those who want to buy NOKIA u would rather buy the NOKIA 5 instead of NOKIA 6 because it is better priced and also lacks features a bit only.
Has dedicated memory slot, more compact and light for one handed use, curved edges for easy handling, 720p display non taxing on the processor, small display giving more battery life, bright display easy outdoor usage.
Lacks high res display but better for lag free, heat free, more battery life.
Lacks dual speakers and Dolby - the front facing speaker on 6 cant match the bottom firing speaker and can in fact distort the sound and stereo image
So what you will get is more RAM and storage, but for that 6 is priced much more. If you are buying a phone from different OEM, a higher ram/storage option will be available for only a little more money.
By that standard, the Nokia 5 is better than Nokia 6 if you dont need that extra memories.
