Apple iPhone 8 Plus review

In another place and another time, the Apple iPhone 8 Plus would have been one of the hottest things around. Swathed in hype, causing a stir, bringing the free ride of the competition's flagships to an abrupt and painful halt.

The S8 scored higher in almost every category. By 10 or more points in some.
The iphone just had two extra categories on the end because of dual camera.
So dxo knew the results and their claim were not justified. Which is why they probably did actually get paid. Or they are just that much of fanboys.

And again here. The writer of this article specifically said that the images on the iphone were sharper compared to the s8. While even contradicting it to talk about oil paint effect on foliage.
While the gsmarena photo comparison tool that is linked directly to this article shows the exact opposite.
Just like almost ever photo shoot out comparison. And the Note8 does ever better.
Did one single thought besides apple rules even cross your mind before toy replied??

Honestly, even my 950XL beats easily both S7 and iPhone 8+. 808 is still unmatched, if we are talking about detail... and colours, if there's enough light. But dynamic range is rather poor, i admit. Then again, you can adjust levels later.

        The quality is better than most Android flagships, the support is better too.

        The iPhone 8 Plus is way better than the S8 or the Note. I've tried all three and ended up with an iPhone. It replaced and S7 Edge.

            I switched from a Galaxy S7 Edge to the iPhone, so I probably know better than you on this subject.

              By the way the reason why smartphones often use the main camera instead of the tele camera in low light is not just because of a worse f-number. If that was the only reason, then they would not disable the tele camera in low light. The other reasons are that the second sensor is 35-50% smaller and that you need a faster shutter speed. Even with OIS you might need a faster shutter speed than a wide angle + OIS.

                And can be outmatched by many in at many areas. Which makes the entire claim a lie.

                  I really wonder if reviewer even took a look at sample photos. I don't give rats ass atm, if it's iOS or Android, but from purely photographic standpoint those samples are NOT sharp, are noisy, there's a lot of corner softness and they seem unnatural (probably because of noise suppression algorithm). And, resolved detail is average at best. Yes, dynamic range is rather OK, so seem to be colours.

                  Lumia 950XL and Nokia 808 user.

                    iphone 8 resolves more details? really are you blind or acting like one? S8 captures way superior pictures than any competitor right now barring the LG G6 and the new Xperia which comes a little close here and there, heck even iphone 7plus camera samples looks way better than iphone 8plus. Take a look at your own Nokia 8 shootup and see iphone 8 is inferior to any flagship released till date.

Take it all with a healthy dose of salt. Also, account for the fact that laptops have far superior sustained performance due to active cooling and fewer battery restrictions, not to mention overclocks automatically if necessary. It's still an amazing feat. I think it's because of the massive funding going into perfecting ARM processors and the strong competition with Intel just stagnating for years. PC's don't bring in near the same amount of revenue and Intel didn't have competition for a long time now. That's why Apple is researching their Ax chips for possible desktop use and Microsoft have already written the instruction set to run Windows 10 natively on ARMv8 processors (Specifically the SD820, 821 and 835). It's only a matter of time before ARM processors are Intel's main competition.
