It's the first time in my life I look at a phone and it makes me think about a Xperia, when I look at the XZ in black, Sony's phone looks so much better, despite all the industrial and gaming design BS. And I've never been a fan of the design.
I could live with all the cons this article said about this Razer phone except for the screen issues and the brand. Just because it has the Razer brand the actual price of this phone for the final customer depending where you live I'd rather get the Sony XZ, Nokia 8, or insert all the 2017 flagships models here, Apple included. Pay premium for green/RGB leds and subpar quality, this phone seems to follow their business model, they only forgot the leds.

I know it won't be good until where. Beside that awesome 120hz display, nothing is special in this phone already.
Oh ya, a very well recognize GREEN everywhere.

Considering it's a first effort it's not too bad.
Still, I was expecting better technology in the screen, far too many compromises for the 120hz highlight.

The phone can surely benefit for media/gaming, but it bit let down when the screen is bad, since that is the most important aspect

What a Crappy Phone! I thought that the lack of the 3.5mm headphone was to be it's main disadvantage, but alas.....
With an IGZO panel, a good brightness was to be guaranteed, but 223 nits? Even cheap laptops have screens brighter than that. For all the 120Hz talk, what's the use if you don't have decent brightness. Contrast is poor too as is the sunlight constrast ratio.
Ok, so atleast with the low brightness IGZO panel and that 4000 mAh panel, maybe the battery endurance will be a saving grace? With a pathetic 63 hours, let that thought stay in you dreams......Atleast QuickCharge 4.0 is there.....
As for raw CPU and GPU performance, the Razer phone isn't much worse than the current SD 835 crop, then again it doesn't have a clear advantage either. The Note8 and OnePlus and the some other flagships, easily capable of matching and probably even slightly exceeding the Razer's prowess.
And as we saw the 120fps implementation for games is half-baked and it still only exists mostly in theoretical scenarios rather than real-life ones. And that fault may not necessarily be with Razer. But the missed opportunity to play 120fps videos is Razer's sole fault since it would have been much more straightforward to implement that using a native app. So is the glaring omission to record high-frame rate (not even 60fps) videos on a screen with 120Hz refresh rate.
The camera could be called okay/average/fine.
Some superb loudspeakers though.

The review does't include the small letter in the presentation that mentioned the test conditions. Their battery tests were with only 25% of volume, at determined brightness. If you want to enjoy the sound power with the two amplifiers. The battery will drain as fast as your pleasure watching how decrease its level all the time on the icon.
