Can you comment on the dynamic range, please?
I wonder where the limitation of the dynamic range comes from: either small maximum output voltage or high floor noise. Especially the latter is distracting with sensitive headphones (e.g. in-ear 16Ohms like the Sennheiser series) in a quiet environment listening to classical music.
It would much help to publish the floor noise level when the headset is connected and the music is playing a "zero content" file. It is not sufficient to measure in "paused" mode as the units sometimes are muting the audio output in that state.
A hint regarding the different output reading with and without headphones attached: The bigger the difference is (e.g. the hump in the base area) the higher value a serial resistor may have in the line of audio output. The hump should come from the impedance that the headphone resembles as this is not equal for all frequencies. If the Audio output has zero inner resistance then the curves are identical - something that an audiophile addict may expect. Having such devices would however demand extreme quality from the last stage of audio output, especially regarding the floor noise (see above).
Anyway you are resembling the most elaborate and dedicated audio testing already and you are my one stop source for getting reliable information in that regard.

This phone (and many others) has Bluetooth and speakerphone but NO voice activated dialling via a blue tooth headset, Why? It's illegal to hold a phone when driving, if you use more than 1 car it's not practical to have an in car hands free system so the headset is a must. The phone is so good in other ways, why has this essential feature been left out?
