Anonymous, 21 Jun 2018I think they should start with Note 9 first. From the leak,... moreMy only issue is extra Mechanical parts which will fail overtime. Also adds extra fragility to the Phone. Also imagine if something gets stuck in there like dirtnor a grain of sand, could potentially fuck up the phone.

Kirk, 22 Jun 2018You never know man, it may take a few years to perfect the ... moreStill no, seeing as how Samsung is actively researching, making, and testing displays that turn off the pixels in one part of the screen. Samsung has proven they can do this with their transparent display TVs. It's only a matter of time before they figure out how to do it with a smartphone and judging by the raw power of these chipsets, especially 7nm and 5nm future chipsets, it would be a big alternative to moving parts due to less moving parts, speakers being able to be fitted under the display, cameras as well, and especially water proofing.

The Voice of Reason, 20 Jun 2018Camera is mediocre at best. Let's be honest: it's just awfu... moreMovies are 2.3:1
Browsing in general not just facebook/twitter browsing benefits from the wider aspect ratio.
Youtube has started impkementing wider aspect ratio.
Games can well follow.
IMO 2:1 looks fine. All phone were 2:1 , but since they had bezels they had to shrink the screen to 1.77:1. This one is 2.2:1 though, and I agree it may be too much, it looks freakishly tall... a bit too much.
Careless touches can be solved via software. In fact oppo already implements it, those touches on the side won't be an issue in most occation.
The camera is bad though and a notch is the only sensible solution at this point in time. Eventually we will get true bezelness but that would require underscreen sensors...

I will wait for an in depth camera and hardware review but i think i will order it, its a stunning piece of tech, and far ahead of the competition, put a samsung or apple logo on this and it would no doubt sell in the 10s of millions, oppo engineers should give themselves a pat on the back for such a great looking device, the ONLY thing i might have included for that price is an underscreen Fingerprint scanner, just to add some longevity to the motorised parts, i know oppo claim 300,000 uses, but thats under optimal controlled conditions, in real life i bet more like 100,000 which is still more then 2.5 years of 150 times per day

I am not a fan of face unlock, and hate the fact that the mechanical system needs to move with each unlock. Fingerprint reader would have been great!

Its a good solution and probably way ahead of its time, motorized parts are gonna do more bad than good for the device itself, but I guess we can say that the bezelless trend is taking a step in the right direction.
Patent this
Wait for apple to copy the idea for innovation
sue them
Profit.

cant be doing with having to look at the screen to open it up. This would be perfect if it just had a fingerprint reader on the back.
