Oppo Find X hands-on review

19 June 2018
Love ‘em or hate ‘em, notches spread like an infection from one phone to another. Now there’s a cure – pop-up cameras. The Oppo Find X is the second phone in as many weeks to feature one and it’s even more elaborate than what we saw on the vivo NEX S.

I must admit, this device looks beautiful, inside and outside.

However, I will never buy any Oppo device because of their horrible color OS, tried it and it's horrible iphone copy.

Camera is mediocre at best. Let's be honest: it's just awful. It could have been fine, if we'd lived in 2014, alas it's 2018.

Also, I'm curious - how is this phone is meant to be held? You'll be touching the sides of the screen all the time: I expect tons of spurious touch events. Some bezels are fine. No bezels is not fine.

Also, whoever introduced 2:1 screen aspect ratio must die a slow and painful death. And all the idiots who decided to copy that. It might be good for instagram, twitter and facebook, but what about those of us who don't follow anyone/anything and use their phones for gaming/watching videos? Enjoy black bars or cut the video even further from the top and from the bottom?

Give me back my 16:9 screen.

I'd say make one with midrange SoC and smaller internal storage, and you'll probably sell a few millions of theses devices.
I still don't like this concept, but it looks good.
