Samsung Galaxy A6+ (2018) review

16 July 2018
The Samsung Galaxy A-series are going through a bit of an identity crisis with J-style metal replacing the glass in the lower end of the lineup. But we already knew that - we had the A6 (2018) in for review just last month. Now it's the plus's turn - the Galaxy A6+ (2018) brings more than just a bigger display.

I find a little bit strange the fact the Moto G6 was showing better graphic benchmarks compared to the A6+, even if both sport the same SD450 SoC.

radhiv1993, 17 Jul 2018Guarantee for laggie and slow performance with such a high price.Definitely not a sluggish performance
Maybe you're too spoiled on SD660's performance that SD625, which is still plenty capable today, is already sluggish according to your standards

And yes I said the 625, because numbers have a massive effect on people, and they tend to have the thought of a "lower=worse" belief
    Besides, 450's just a slightly underclocked 625

Of course, metal is still my favorite.

Same exact Adreno 506 GPU, which is basically what pushes the display
Even SD430 is fine on FHD+, as shown by Huawei Y7 Prime 2018

I'm not an engineer, but if glass sandwich is possible, a silicone case/cover with glass back should be possible as well.

Too Bad !! It does not have Fast Charging. We can't expect this from Samsung. In similar price segment they put it in A5 (2018) last year.

Looks premium, costs a penny to replace.

I'd take the xiaomi redmi note 5 pro over this any day.

I'd take a well built aluminum/stainless phone over glass if two versions exist.
1- brushed metal doesn't look bad
                            2- handles more falls
3- easy to repair (screws are arguably easier and better than glue)
                            4- dissipates more heat

Only problem is with paint and such, but you can't have everything you want.

I always use a cover/case so plastic, metal or glass won't look any different. First two tend to be more forgiving for impacts.

That battery life is really good, for midrange phone (from Samsung). To bad that Samsung UI, SE9? Looks similar to Windows 10 UI (in settings)..
But, al least, is not anymore slow like Touchwiz was in the golden days of Samsung fame (on mid and low end devices).

An alternative version of A8 if you don't like glass back.
I just wish they kept the USB C port.

Good thing that Samsung's phones tend to drop price after a couple months.
