Samsung Galaxy A6+ (2018) review

16 July 2018
The Samsung Galaxy A-series are going through a bit of an identity crisis with J-style metal replacing the glass in the lower end of the lineup. But we already knew that - we had the A6 (2018) in for review just last month. Now it's the plus's turn - the Galaxy A6+ (2018) brings more than just a bigger display.

I simply can't understand how Samsung gets more out of it's battery than others???

Google pixel running stock Android and big 3520mah battery only gets 77 hours?? Then how can this happen

Is this black magic from Samsung????

I'm aware of screen protectors, but you seriously need to read everything instead of focusing on mocking others' comments.
As for me, I like to be able to go plastic, metal, glass and even leather or wood if there were such cases/covers for my phone. I like changing minor things about my devices better than changing the device itself.

Well there have been so many things like that already, so I guess it's good for you.

The idea is to be able to transform a metal phone like the A6+ here into a glass back. Or protecting the original back while keeping glass aesthetic.
Most glass backs could be replaced for around $40-70 and apple for about $300 and up, so a $20 case with broken glass could save some money and a visit to the service center.

The specs correspond with the ~$200 price range. Who would buy this for the price Samsung is asking?

If someone will buy this phone for me, I'll never ever use a case. That back design is cool enough to show off (with smudges XD).

I want to buy J6 but it not have great camera. I want to buy J8 but it does not FHD display and fast charging. I want to buy A6+ but it does not have fast battery charging. They force us to buy S9/S9+ but I don't have budget!
They intentionally bring technology step by step on capable chipset & make more money in long run.

I don't quite get your idea, but even if I do, I can tell myself that it ain't practical; if it is at all.
Protective cases are called protective cases for a reason of their own name.

Okay: glass back-to-back thin silicone layer from the cover- tempered glass stuck to the silicone with chemistry or magic.

If the glass takes the hit, the silicone should absorb some of the shock

Yes that is true though. The asking price is way too much for a SD450. It would be more competitive if it was at least a 636 and with $300 price, where it will find its rival, the Oppo F7.

You would need a glass as durable as the transparent bridge in China in order for it to work as intended.
If the user wants to have some protection while still having the glass back, they can just buy protection for the sides and keep the glass back left unprotected.

SD450 belongs in the $200 price range. For this price you get a Nokia 7 plus with a far more powerful SD660 chipset and better graphics. GPU performance is definitely a problem for the A6+ considering its a premium mid range device.

I'm talking tempered glass over silicone, it should be durable and somewhat shatter proof.

I find a little bit strange the fact the Moto G6 was showing better graphic benchmarks compared to the A6+, even if both sport the same SD450 SoC.

radhiv1993, 17 Jul 2018Guarantee for laggie and slow performance with such a high price.Definitely not a sluggish performance
Maybe you're too spoiled on SD660's performance that SD625, which is still plenty capable today, is already sluggish according to your standards

And yes I said the 625, because numbers have a massive effect on people, and they tend to have the thought of a "lower=worse" belief
                                        Besides, 450's just a slightly underclocked 625
