Xiaomi Mi A2 and Mi A2 Lite hands-on review

24 July 2018
Last year the Xiaomi Mi A1 was a star in our reviews, the conclusion page in particular. We could recommend the Mi A1 as an alternative to literally every smartphone - from the cheapest droids, to the most expensive top dogs. But its reign is over as the maker is launching not one but two sequels - brace yourselves for the invasion of the Xiaomi Mi A2 and Mi A2 Lite.

Ezzot, 24 Jul 2018No bloatware and then you say there is their file manger an... moreHow can you consider a file manager and a TV controlling App bloatware. Those are the first 2 apps I would download. And they would probably have Ads. For them to include those is a BONUS.
The crud that AT&T and Samsung put on their phones...now that IS bloat. I have to disable so so many apps when I get those phones...like 15 to 20 apps that I would never use. Wow...picky!!

I would also go for the Mi A2 LITE, though money is not the issue for me. I like the larger battery, with it not being upgradable like my S5 with the 7800mah battery, I would prefer the LITE version. Also compared to my speedy S5, it is still 1.6x faster, and sooo much cheaper! The LITE also sports the 3.5 headphone jack which I need. I have no use for the 2.5 jack, sorry. I have yet to see anyone complain about the photos it produces, oddly, no one seems to have mentioned it much at all. Photos are definitely good on the S5.
I have stopped buying the Samsung S series (3,4 &5 customer)...besides being overpriced, they have removed the IR lbaster, deleted the removable battery and sd card slots thinking they are new and trendy. It looks to me like Samsung has become sloppy and greedy with no SD expansion and their tiny non-replaceable batteries. What do they give you in return?? A higher price because they now have to also fit additional sloooower CPU in the phone to conserve their precious battery power, plus you have to buy the more expensive model to get adequate memory storage. You can't expand the Samsung RAM memory and when the OEM battery gives up..what do you do?? Buy another OVERPRICED Samsung phone. With these prices on the A2 phones, the Samsung S9 now looks like the exorbitantly priced dinosaur that it is. Samsung, maybe has a better screen marginally.
BTW, I do wish they had stuck with the 1080p resolution for the newer phones, going to 4k makes little sense on a TV smaller than 46 inches, so WHY WHY WHY waste power trying to display 4k on a 6 inch screen when one can barely see the pixels even at 1080p.
The only thing I seem to be losing with the Mi A2 LITE vs Samsung is Waterproof ability. And My S5 has not been all that water proof since the charge cover got lost and I upgraded to the monstrous battery.
I am also looking very forward to getting this version of the A2 LITE because it has the stock Android interface which I prefer. I would say they hit a Triple with this phone, lacking only the water proof ability IMHO.

                    Full review please...

Phones are great, but definitely expensive than before. Not sure if they are worth the extra money.

Another fail fone from xiaomi.. u should sell it for 200 dollers if u want it to sell in india.
                        -no headfone jack
                        -small battery
                        -no expandable storage

The camera is good tho, better than almost all huawei phones (except, of course, of the P20 and P20 Pro)

But this fone is too expensive, dont do this again xiaomi. Dont come to india with this fone.

Why can't Xiaomi make their own version of Pixel if they are making this?
